Our bures are fully air-conditioned and set amongst lush tropical gardens, and some are only a few lazy steps from the beach and waters edge. With a total of 45 bures, Malolo offers four different categories including 28 Ocean View Bures, 12 Deluxe Ocean View Bures, 3 Family Bures and 2 Tadra Beach Bures for couples only. All Oceanview and Deluxe Oceanview Bures have a king bed and two single beds, ideal for a family of four or a couple. “So relaxing!”
We just spent 7 nights at the Malolo resort and it is wonderful. Be prepared, though -- it's a simple life on the island, and many of the activities require a boat trip. Having said that, once we had adjusted to the pace we had a brilliant time. The staff are fantastic and it is so relaxing.
“Such a memorable holiday!”
We arrived at the resort after over nighting at Denaru Island. From the moment we stepped off the boat the warmth and friendliness of the staff just didn't stop. Although it was a quiet time for them due to the recent flooding in Nadi Town, our family of two adults and two kids (aged 8 and 6) thoroughly enjoyed our stay sharing a ocean view bure. There weren't many children on the island at the time however the kids club still offered lots of activities including visiting another island, snorkelling, t-shirt and face painting. The two theme nights were also good fun offering lashings of buffet style food, the banana boat rides were a huge hit with the kids and the nightly torch lighting a favourite with everyone. Its the sort of place where you can do as much or as little as you want, great for families and has just enough mod cons on hand to ensure that you can really focus on relaxing. We chose it because its a bit smaller than some resorts and we loved being 20 metres from the waters edge when sitting on the veranda of our bure. We're already planning a return visit as many guests apparently like to do - some repeatedly!
“Going back next year!”
Absolutely fantastic! We were there on our honeymoon for 10 nights. The location is great, the corals are 10 yards from the beach so you can snorkel as much as you like. The staff is so personable and giving and they will leave a life long impression on you. There were only a few families with children there (which I do not recommend).
“Malolo Island Review”
We stayed in an deluxe ocean front bure which was amazing. Gorgeous decor. Staff were so well organised and friendly and did everything to make our stay great, even when our little boy wasn't very receptive to the new environment! We were a little bit far away from the restaurants and pool which meant carrying our little boy a bit but loved our bure and was well worth the extra money for that room. Will defiantely go back.
“Malolo Island - Worth a Visit”
We just completed a great week long stay on this island and thoroughly impressed for the most part. Once you acclimatise to "Fiji time" Malolo is great stop for both couples or families - the location is like something out of a movie and the recent renovation has really lifted the overall feel and quality of stay. The day spa is great with a full menu of services you would expect and the peace and serenity of lying in a hammock on the beachfront with a good book is sublime. As the island is small the overall service experience from staff is quite personal however like everywhere in Fiji from time to time you will experience inconsistencies but overall not enought to ruin your break.
“Great Honeymoon”
My new wife and I stayed at Malolo from July 17-24th. We had an excellent time. We were greeted by the staff and taken to our room. The resort was nice and quiet most days. A few days there was a screaming child or two...(not recommended to bring small children and babies). The activities the resort offered were great, a bit pricey, but very fun. Meals were just ok. They were a bit overpriced for the quality. Really if you choose to go here, expect to be treated like royalty and have a nice relaxing trip.
“Malolo...perfect place to relax”
The resort was wondeful. The island is divine. It is oh so natural and low key, but oh so gorgeous. Not over the top swish 5 star that you feel you cannot really chill out. The atmosphere is sooo relaxing and easy going. On the downside I think the meal plans are expensive and some of the activities are costly and not very good. For example the Shell Village tour was a waste of time and money. However, the diving was amazing and well priced.
“A bit more expensive but worth it”
Well run smallish resort with great kids club, sitters and water activities. Food generally very good.
“Expensive for what you get”
5 star price for 3 star quality. Probably a good spot if all you want to do is lay around all day, or if you are into expensive sea excursions. Not a lot to do at the resort, beach is rocky and uncomfortable to walk on. Very limited food choices, compared to a 5 star resort, and everything dies at around 10pm. If this is what you are looking for, that's great, however I need more activity than this. No tv's in the room either. Very friendly staff, but you always feel like they are trying to get more money out of you. Everything is charged to the room (no cash) and people told us about staff automatically adding tips after they signed the charge for the room, so make sure to add the total on the bottom of the receipt, and keep it for checking out.
“Avoid this resort”
The rooms at Mololo are just fine - the food is the problem. The food is expensive, and it is absolutely awful. The staff are all very nice, and the island is beautiful - but find somewhere else to spend your vacation dollars for the food and drink at Malolo will make for an awful stay.
