“Fantastic Hotel”
We stayed for 1 night in May 2009 and found the hotel and the staff excellent. The room was lovely and the food in the bistro/conservatory was both very tasty and great value for money. Breakfast had everything you could ask for in a lovely dining room with white linen table covers. One small tip - if you have a car - park at the rear of the hotel as we parked at the front entrance under the trees and the car was covered in bird poo in the morning.
“Lovely with great facilities”
Lovely room very dog friendly will definitely return. Wish there were more hotels like this one, so reasonable! Quiet, good night's sleep too.
“Advice to the owners”
The hotel was very conveniently placed for me and my family and we had around 6 rooms over nights as we attended a family funeral nearby and the reception was actually in the hotel. I know the hotel well and have attended functions there over the years plus I have stayed several times but it would not be my first choice. On the plus side is the location, friendliness of the staff, value for money and more than adequate catering. On the negative side is the bedrooms which are in much need of a makeover for the beds are uncomfortable and the furnishings and decor are looking tired and old fashioned. With a little bit of work and a small amount of investment this could be easily turned from a good hotel to an excellent one. I am an international businessman who stays in hotels around Europe almost weekly so my critique may be slightly unfair on this small town hotel
