“Very nice time in a good hotel”
We stayed for 1 week in mid September 2010 The hotel met our expectations. The hotel was clean and nice. the room was small, but we knew it that in advance and besides it was very nice. the bathroom was small too but very clean and very well equipped. The staff was friendly and courteous. We had no incidents during the whole stay. Food was good, multiple meat&fish choices. since it was Light All Inclusive the drinks were provided only during the meal, one type of beer (good), red and white wine. the ride to Old Town takes around 15 min by bus. the bus station is about 7 minutes walk from the hotel. we had good time, however this hotel might not be the best choice to groups or young people looking to hang out in a hotel with people of the same age since over 80% were elderly people. but may be it was just that period of year.
“Excellent!”
Friendly hotel, wonderful staff, nice room, good food, wonderful hospitality. Loads to do, good pool close to sea, good bus service to old town where you are well linked with other routes. Highly recommended!
“Nice confortable hotel”
Our room was reasonably big and clean. We were put in a room with sea view without even paying for it :) Food was really good and varied, home-made pizzas and grilled meat and fish were excellent. Nice staff, animation team really motivating and friendly. Good value for money.
“A real gem!”
The only place we saw in Dubrovnik that had a fantastic pool AND a beautiful beach overlooking the harbour and bridge within 100m. Rooms were newly refurbished, lots of choice at breakfast and the staff were extremely helpful. Would definitely go back, and have already recommended Valamar Club Durbrovnik to others!
“Good resort, mediocre hotel”
As a self-contained resort, the Valamar is adequate with decent amenities (pool, ocean view, bar, restaurant, etc). But, I would not consider it as a hotel for a tourist wishing to visit Dubrovnik. It's a long way into town, with a steep uphill hike to get to the nearest bus stop. The buses get packed (with no A/C!) and will sometimes need to bypass a stop. One thing that really bothered me: the room's A/C unit cannot be set below 23C. This setting is adequate for 'quiet' resting, but is completely inadequate after physical activity such as your morning jog or just returning to the hotel after a hot afternoon in the old town.
“Excellent Hotel”
Excellent hotel. Clean and friendly. Beautiful view from the pool and easy location for Dubrovnik Old Town. Highly recommend.
