“This was a lovely hotel, with a great breakfast.”
We were very impressed. The morning we left, there was not room for everyone in the free suttle to the airport, so they called a cab and paid the fee for to get there in time.
“Good Airport Hotel”
It's proximity to the airport makes it a great hotel for the short visit. The only complaint I have is the shuttle. I waited for the shuttle and by the time it arrived not everyone could fit so they made people wait 30 minutes for the next shuttle to arrive!
“A Pleasant Surprise”
We booked the Holiday Inn Express at the Dublin airport purely for convenience--we had early morning flights and didn't want to chance being stranded in the city center. We knew we could trust the Holiday Inn name but did not expect much more than a decent room at a decent price. We got more than we expected. The room was ready when we arrived at close to 11 p.m. per our request weeks earlier (the couch had already been pulled out and made up into a bed for the third person in our party), and the front desk staff was pleasant and efficient. The room was modern, comfortable, and very clean. Our breakfast early the next morning (included in the room price) was also more than we expected--eggs, cereal, sausage, pastries, toast, juices, yogurt, and fruit--despite the early hour the entire buffet was already set up and the food was plentiful. After breakfast we took the free hotel shuttle to the airport--a 10 minute, no hassle ride. Oh, and about that shuttle. We had come into Dublin from Galway on the train the night before. A cab from the train station to the hotel was about 50 euros. So instead we took the city bus to the airport and then grabbed the free shuttle to the hotel. Major savings!!! The only glitch is that the airport shuttle stop says Crowne Plaza (which is adjacent to the Holiday Inn) but other shuttle drivers told us which shuttle to take (the shuttle itself says Crowne Plaza/Holiday Inn).
“Much better than expected!”
Can't complain one bit about this hotel. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful, room was clean, breakfast was decent and I like the fact that you had a shuttle back and forth to airport. Bus fare was minimal to go to the center of Dublin and was no more than a 10 to 15 minute ride. And they even had USA conversion outlets available. Go you will not be disappointed. This hotel deserves higher ratings than it got.
“Nice hotel near the Dublin airport with included breakfast”
We had 6 people in our groug that stayed in 3 rooms and we were pleased with the hotel. We had a late afternoon check-in and left after breakfast for the airport the next day. This hotel was fine, just a little hard to find.
“Pleasantly surprised”
The hotel had every amenity, and the room was spacious and attractive (in a businesslike, not luxurious, way--but very comfortable). I appreciated the attentive service whenever I had a question or needed help, and also enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast, served buffet-style in a large dining room. The free shuttle service (leaving every half hour) to the airport (ten minutes away) was also a plus, and the price was very reasonable.
“Suits us well”
Excellent hotel with good amenities. Good use of space in bathroom. Felt spacious compared tp other Holiday Inn express hotels. Nice to have scrambled eggs for breakfast...not boiled eggs. Our nonsmoking room and floor reeked of cigarette smoke!!
“Nice hotel”
Nice hotel, clean--pleasant staff--close to airport. However, far from city center/attractions, especially if you don't have a car. There is a bus stop across from the hotel but can be frustrating to figure out which bus you need & waiting for bus can use up a good portion of your sightseeing time.
“easy to reach airport, not really convenient to downtown”
I really liked the room and the breakfast area. I didn't like waiting at the airport for the free shuttle bus that didn't show up after 45 minutes ... other passengers and I shared a taxi to the hotel instead. The hotel is not really convenient to downtown, but if you need to be close to the airport it's great.
“Perfect!”
Perfect location to Dublin with short bus ride taking you into town.
