"fantastic hotel in an excellent location for exploring the Lakes. very spacious with an excellent spa and buffet breakfast."

"Free parking and views of lake from the dining room were very good. Half board - the dinner was good but overpriced so the 10% service charge worked out extortionate. NOT GOOD We were put in a small loft room with a difficult door to open and a tight stair access- the room and whole property needs a lick of paint and could be cleaner. Location too far from bowness - walking into town is 20minutes but on both roads which had no pavement so very dangerous. Wouldn’t stay here again ."

"Great location in the heart of Grasmere. Easy parking. Good breakfast. Lovely new bathroom. The room itself and the restaurant and reception areas could do with a bit of an update which would make it fabulous. Maybe removing some carpets and having wooden floors would help. "

"The hotel is lovely, quirky with lots to look at. Lovely gardens. We were there 2 days for a wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff were great especially Alan on the bar. Breakfast was good. Our room was 201 and it was quite unusual but a bit dark, not good for putting on makeup. It definitely needs a light over a mirror. The wooden cladding although adding character darkens the room. "

"Absolutely amazing. Beautiful hotel and gardens close to Grasmere centre. Staff were excellent and food was delicious. Views from spa and restaurant were gorgeous. I would recommend without hesitation. "
