“good location and value”
We have stayed here previously and found the location ideal as we have a relative buried in one of the British War cemeteries.Access to D-Day landing beaches and surrounding areas is ideal. The hotel is good value for money with excellent staff.
“Caen - Good, clean hotel”
Very nice,clean hotel. Walking distance to the WWII Memorial. Staff very helpfull - helped us reserve room in another Kyriad in Lamball. We slept in three Kyriad hotels during our stay in France and they were all very clean, nice rooms. We are family of four, and the room was perfect size for us. Kyriad chain appear to be a frenchise, mangers/co-owners are listed for every hotel. In smaller cities, don't assume that people on the reception will speak English. Recommend it!
“No reception”
Arrived quite late from the ferry,about 11 pm, so there was no reception. Tired brains do not not respond well to keyboard entry.Nowhere, not even a vending machine, for a drink and a snack. Very limited supplies of tea and coffee in the bedroom and no biscuits didn't help. Reception opens late in the morning and that contributed to almost missing a ferry as we had a biil to pay. Unable to buy an aperitif before dinner as they are not allowed to serve drinks until they start serving dinner. Poor lighting made it difficult to read. The bath/shower was tiny. Staff were pleasant, the food was edible and the sheets were clean.
“Hôtel Kyriad Caen Memorial”
The Hotel Kyriad Caen Memorial, is only 400m away from the American Memorial, but is 15 minutes away from the center of Caen and an hour away from the American beaches. The hotel is nothing special. Upon entering the room, there was pubic hair all over our toliet, and water from the last guest in the hot water heater, as well as some trash still around the room. The pricing in France is outrageous. There is gratuity added to everything, and I mean everything. Such as a t-shirt I bought from a Hard Rock Cafe. 30% gratuity was added to our stay at the hotel. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this hotel, I would stay in the town of Bayuex
