“Really lovely friendly hotel”
Lovely family run,typically Italian hotel.The new extension and pool will be complete in September and that will really make this a great place to stay! We would definitely go back
“Just what we needed!”
The building work previously reported at this family run hotel is now virtually finished and has greatly enhanced the hotel with the addition of a new restaurant and cafe, a fitness/spa, indoor swimming pool with an outdoor pool planned for completion 2011 as well as several terraces with spectacular views of the nearby mountains where breakfast/lunch or just coffee can be served in the lovely weather. All meals are freshly cooked in the new state of the art kitchens and only local produce or home-made ingredients are used. The hotel staff are helpful and welcoming and ready to assist with information on the area. A car is essential to visit the lovely beaches around the coastline and parking is not a problem at the hotel. The area is also great for walkers of all abilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and feel the entire staff at the hotel are welcoming, friendly and helpful and reasonable English is spoken. We would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and hope to visit again soon!
“Excellent - but”
Fantastic hotel - had a room with a balcony - very clean and comfortable But - they are beginning building improvements Will go back when finished - would still recommend - fantastic part of sardinia - mountains and beaches
“Il Querto. Dorgali”
The hotel runs like a family hotel, polite, friendly and efficient. Most of the staff speak a little English and appreciated our efforts at our little Italian. The hotel sits back from the main road behind a small car park with established trees on the edge of the town about ten minutes stroll to the centre and therefore does not suffer from unwanted noise from bars, traffic etc. It would appear that work was carried out around 2004, certainly on the double glazing. This may explain why some of the guidebooks describe it as "Charmless" which I thought was not only wrong but also unfair and therefore was probably out of date. There is an extension being built, at the rear, which looks as if it will at least double the size of the hotel, this work does not impact at all with the operation of the hotel and was NOT at all disruptive and what builders we saw were both polite and friendly. The views from the rooms were stunning with the backdrop of mountains. The hotel evening menu was similar to many local restaurants and the food was good and well presented and not expensive. The wine list[all local to Sardinia and many to the Dorgali region] covered a good price range. The breakfast was continental and coffee/tea/bread was replenished as required. On the whole a hotel I would recommend and indeed have.
“family run with lovely cosy feel and excellent dorgali regional wine and food”
This hotel was a lovely place to stay; after the week we knew most of the staff - they all made such a huge effort to help us and if you like walking or beaches, the location is wonderful everything is 20-30 min drive. The Food and wine was exceptional. We both prefer to sample local food and this restaurent was excellent in terms of quality with gnochetti sardi, wild picked mushrooms, all homemade pasta and dorgali soups and 10 - 15 dorgali local wines. As a hotel it was ideal and with such great staff we would highly recommend this hotel and this location - the best way to sample some sardinian hospitality and food.
“What an amazing find....”
Hotel Il Querceto Dorgali is a beautifully run family hotel, standard of service is to a very high level and all memebers of staff that we came into contact with were extremely helpful and friendly. The Restaurant food was homemade and extremely tasty. Amazing value for money and again the service and attention to detail from the staff is what makes this hotel stand out from the others.
“Lovely Setting”
Wonderful views, very clean, good restaurant and exremely pleasant staff. There was building work in progress, but this may have stopped now for the summer. In any event I didn't find it intrusive. The beds were harder than I'd have liked, but hey you can't have everything!
“Great food!”
A good hotel clean with extremely helpful and polite reception staff. A little noisy as the hotel is on a main road especially if you have the windows open and they are expanding the hotel so there is construction work going on. However they are putting in a couple of swimming pools which should enhance the hotel and I'm tempted to return next year. The coast is stunning around here and you have to drive through the mountains to get there. We ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious - lots of it and great wine.
“Pretty good”
Liked the hotel - family run - really nice people. Good food etc. Booked a superior room which was very small - found out that the 'superior' feature was the view. We noticed toward the end of our stay that other rooms were much bigger so might be worth asking about that. Other reviews, and the lonely planet guide, suggested that a pool would be available this year - but still being built along with extra rooms etc. so a bit noisy at times. Should be great when finished. Would go again
“Neat hotel, very welcoming & nice food in the restaurant too!”
Very professional service, good size rooms and a limited but very enjoyable menu. Access to some 'off the beaten track' beaches and walks. Would go back.
