“A fantastic place to stay!”
It took us ages to chose a hotel in Sardinia as we really didn;t want to drive whilst we were out there so it was important to get the right location as well as the right hotel. I think we succeeded in that - the hotel was great, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much bother. Our room was great and the view from our balcony and from the pool were breath taking. It was an easy walk to the marina and also to the little restaurants near by. We also stumbled upon a lovely little cake shop which made the most amazing cakes, filled rolls and icecreams. We also ate at the Spinnaker which we had to book as it was so full!
“Beautifully presented and amazing view”
Hotel Balocco has bags of character and local flavour. Each room has a great balcony with fantastic views and the rooms themselves are very well maintained with a luxurious bathroom. The only downpoint of the hotel is it's lack of restaurant for evening/lunch meals.
“Fabulous View”
A fantastic place to stay in Porto Cervo. Staff was very, very friendly and helpful. View of the Porto Cervo Yacht Club and the village was fantastic. Room and bath were large by European standards. And, every room has a balcony which overlooks the water. I highly recommend.
“Cant wait to go back”
The Location of this hotel is excellent, the Staff very friendly and helpful, will definetely return to this Gem of a Hotel.
“Wish I was still there”
The junior suite was really nice, the highlight being the 4 poster bed. Rooftop terrace offered an excellent view of the bay - an ideal location for pre-dinner apéritif!
“would visit again”
it was a beautiful hotel close to everything. they offer a great breakfast buffet with hot and cold items. we were only there for one night but i would love to have stayed longer.
“Hotel Balocco, Porto Cervo - great hotel”
Me and my friend returned from a girls weekend at the Hotel Balocco in Porto Cervo. A great hotel, very authentically Sardinian, staff lovely, room gorgeous, with best view over Porto Cervo Marina and bay. Great position, 20 minute walk into Porto Cervo centre. Pool area was peaceful and beautiful although pool was freezing in May. For food, turn right out of hotel, up the hill and look for the Brazilian restaurant for a chilled out and very special eating experience. Will definitely return to hotel, maybe for romantic break.
“Excellent base for Porto Cervo and surrounding areas”
Having booked a week ahead of the trip (June 2008) and read slightly mixed reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. However, the whole experience at the hotel was excellent and we'd recommend both Porto Cervo and the Hotel Balocco to anyone. Our room was a decent size with a very nice bathroom (towels changed every day) and a small but nice balcony that overlooked the fantastic swimming pool area and Porto Cervo beyond. Breakfast is fine, there's enough variety not to get bored. You can get snacks by the pool at lunch, and there's a very nice bar area with an outdoor terrace. There is no restaurant but there are a number of good ones within a 10-15 minute walk. A stroll down to the marina takes 15 minutes, and the walk to the centre of Porto Cervo takes 25 minutes (you don't have to walk on the main road, there is a path around the edge of the marina). A car would definitely help to get the most out of a visit. We went to several local beaches (be prepared to drive down dusty roads and walk a bit after parking to find the best ones), took the car on a ferry to La Madelena island, and visited Baia Sardinia (very nice). The staff at the hotel were excellent and really helpful even with limited English (though much better than my Italian!). Our return flight was moved from 10.15am to 6.15pm, and they were happy to let us have a late check-out, use the pool and facilities and stored our luggage while we had a final leisurely lunch in town.
“Hotel with Italian Style”
The hotel was very stylish with fantatistic views, some great restaurants in easy walking distance. Loads of beaches with in 15/20 minute drive. The Hotel breakfast becomes somewhat unexiciting after a few days though the views of the boats leaving the harbour make up for the fare. Drinks by the pool which is a must will happen if you ask. You will need a car to enjoy the area and the Hotel is an ideal base to explore the area. Our room was very stylish with a great veranda, unfortunatly the bed was rock hard a case os style over comfort.

Porto Cervo, Italy: Ultra-glamorous Porto Cervo is the Costa Smeraldas most famous resort, a haven for the yachting set and HQ for the paparazzi. Synthetic, but nonetheless picturesque in pink terracotta, the villas and buildings vie for attention with luxury mega yachts. The beautiful people meet on the Piazzetta and shopping is a dream, but seriously expensive. The (free) beaches are a highlight; access to a boat for exploring the little inlets is a must.
