“Great place for a few days in Copenhagen”
We chose this hotel because it was close to Central Station (where we arrived by train from Sweden), close to the city centre and we got a great deal including breakfast and a light buffet dinner - and judging by prices in Denmark, that was a wise decision! The hotel was in a quiet side street, so there was no traffic noise, yet Tivoli Gardens and Central station were both within 5 minutes walk. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful (and all spoke perfect English). There were absolutely no down-sides. Thoroughly recommended!
“Great hotel!”
We arrived early and the hotel staff were very friendly. We were offered an upgrade and declined as we were very satisfied with our room and the size. The room was very clean and it had a nice size bathroom and shower. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel was located in a hotel area and the street was very quiet at night. The adult entertainment across the street was not noticeable at all. Good location for walking to train station and into the main part of town (5 minutes or so). Breakfast was great as was the complimentary dinner. The dinner included corn beef brisket, potatoes, vegetables, two wonderful salads, cold meats, cheese, buns, breads, and brownies. All fabulous and the chef was informative and it was very tasty. Many reviews have said that the dinner was not enough but we felt we had a fabulous meal and were full. For an additional price you can have a drink. Cheaper to get beer instead of water. We would recommend this hotel and would go back and stay again when in Copenhagen.
“New Year's 2010 at Hotel Mayfair ...”
This Hotel was more than was expected. My daughter and I stayed from 12/31/09 to 1/5/10 and enjoyed every moment! The best thing about this hotel is the location - it is close to the Central Station (which will get you anywhere you want to go), shopping areas (Stroget), Tivoli, etc. Our stay included the free breakfast and 'light evening meal' (if you are a budget traveller, this is the only way to go!). Our room (on 3rd floor) was not the biggest (but we spent most of our time in the city anyway) and very clean. The only complaint (if you really want to call it that) is that there were just a few channels on TV that were in English (unless you wanted to pay for a movie). The Hotel Staff was very friendly and so helpful (they got us a taxi at 3am). Coffee, tea, and fruit were available all the time. There are 2 computers to use anytime and free WiFi as well. Overall, this is a charming Hotel in a great location. I would definately stay there again !
“Great little hotel....just what we wanted!”
My daughter and I spent two nights here and it was perfect for our short break. Conveniently located within walking distance of the railway station (a short ride from from the airport) and of the city centre. The room was small but spotlessly clean and very nicely furnished. The self serve buffet at breakfast and dinner was perfectly adequate and whilst dinner had a restricted choice the food was of good quality. The club across the road, whilst a concern when we arrived, proved absolutely no issue what so ever. Our room overlooked it, but we saw no activity outside and certainly no noise! This my have been due to the fact that we were there on Sunday and Monday nights only. All in all I'd recommend this hotel for a short break in a very lovely city. I'd recommend it!
“Will visit again, definitely”
It was a pleasant experience to stay at Copenhagen's Clarion Hotel Mayfair. The staffs are friendly. Helped me carry my luggage without accepting tips, because I strained my back dis-embarking from the cruise ship with the luggage. The breakfast and dinner are also included, and the food are pretty good, too. Definitely will come back. Highly recommended!
“Fantastic hotel and really friendly staff.”
We normally prefer smaller hotels with no more than 20-30 rooms to avoid that 'corporate / off-the-shelf' feel but these guys seem to have achieved their objective of providing a cosy, bespoke atmosphere. It's less than 5 minutes from the central station. We didn't manage to get up in time for the breakfasts (too many late nights) but the evening buffet was nice. We had a superior double and I'm not sure what extra that gave us but it was not much more than a standard so thought why not. The room had everything we needed and reading some of the other reviews I'd agree our bathroom was small but I hadn't really noticed at the time as it was so well laid out and spotlessly clean - but if you prefer a bath to shower I guess it's worth checking in advance. Overall I would definitley stay here again and reccomend to anyone visiting Copenhagen.
“Good hotel but”
This is a nice hotel some of the room could do with a bit of work done on them. The first room the put us in was ok but the bathroom was tiny with a shower. The first evening there the heating to the room was not working and Copenhagen in October is very cold. I did tell the receptionist and at first she was not helpful, she did offer us the room exact same room but on the ground floor which seem to have the same problem, so we decided to stay put, but this same receptionist did tell that they had received four other complaints about the lack of heating. The next evening we had the same problem but this time the receptionist was a young lady called Ea, who was very lovely and really really helpful and got us moved to a lovely big warm room with a big bathroom with a bath. I would say that this is the room we should have been put in from the start as we had booked a superior double. After this we really enjoyed our stay, the breakfast is really good and plenty of variety. The light evening meal is just that light, and you need to get there early or there won't be much left. The hotel is very central, I would say avoid both day and night Istegade which is the road to your left when you come out the hotel. This is a bit of a red light district but I am a city girl so that does not bother me, also lots of young families live in the area so it cannot be that bad. Copenhagen is lovely and I cannot wait to go again and would definitely stay at the Clarion Collection Mayfair.
“Great base for Copenhagen”
This hotel is perfectly located just two streets from the main central railway station, the Tivoli gardens and the city centre. The whole of Copenhagen and it's sites are all within walking distance. The hotel is superbly decorated & maintained to a high standard. All of the staff are very helpful and courteous. The lounge area is decorated in a beautiful boutique style and is very warm and relaxing to return to. The fire is especially nice to return to this time of year. The free tea & coffee and afternoon cake is very handy. Bedrooms are of a high standard and while not big are of an adequate size. The bathroom is again compact but quite suitable and very clean. The only other things I would have liked in the room was a safe (which seems pretty standard in most hotels these days) and tea & coffee making machine. Even with the free drinks downstairs it would still be nice to have a drink just before bed & first thing in the morning. The free evening buffet is very handy but it should only be regard as a light meal and would get repetitive if you're there for more than a few days as there is little variation from night to night. Apart from these minor points the hotel is a great base and I would have no hesitation in staying there again & recommending it to others.
“Won't stay anywhere else in Copenhagen!”
This is a wonderful hotel. Very convenient location only one block from the main train station. The included breakfast and dinner was always very good. Very cozy lobby with coffee and tea always available. The staff was awesome (we actually lost our passports while in Copenhagen, and the staff helped us make phone calls and change the length of our stay multiple times without issue). Sure the room and bathrooms are small by American standards, but typical in Europe. Very comfy beds, nice TVs, classy decor, ... All in all, a great experience. Don't even think about staying anywhere else in Copenhagen!!!
“Very Nice Hotel”
We stayed at the Clarion for 2 nights after a cruise. The room was a little small by US standards but very comfortable. Small bathroom but, again, well appointed. The hot breakfast was delicious and they even offered a light evening meal that was perfect after a long day of sightseeing. Be sure to bring a power adapter for laptop, phones, etc. The hotel does not supply them. Great staff - helpful in every way.
