“Great Hotel if you are driving”
If you are driving a car in or around Barcelona or are driving through Barcelona on your way around Spain, this hotel is a good option. It is rather far from downtown (20 minutes), but it is right off the highway and parking is free and convenient. Great facilities and very polite staff. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is free internet in the lobby and a restaurant next door.
“A Good Hotel for cost-conscious business users”
The AS Bellaterra is an excellent hotel for the cost conscious business user and young families with a car. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The bathrooms are particularly good, having been recently renewed and are of the quality a five-star chain in UK/USA. For English language speakers, however, the in-room cable television service is limited to just one channel:CNN. The restaurant is excellent, the food is of a good quality, serving local cuisine, freshly prepared, however, it is expensive and does not cater to vegetarians (the food is mainly consists of fish and red meat). For those on a limited budget, there is also a motorway style cafeteria on-site, serving excellent sandwiches and snacks. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. There is free internet access in the hotel lobby area. A note of warning: This is not a hotel for those wishing to be in the centre of Barcelona's tourist spots or nightlife, or travellers without their own transport. Barcelona is about 40 mins by train, further, the nearest train station is about 20 minutes walk across open farmland. However, if you are passing by car or visiting local businesses or the adjacent university (as I was), this is an excellent option.
“Excellent hotel right on motorway”
This is the fifth time we have stayed at the Bellaterra. It is an excellent hotel, comfortable, clean, good restaurant, free wifi, friendly staff. Rooms are large, very welcoming after driving 600 miles. Very good value for money.
“Easy to Find on Motorway”
Comfortable and easy to find. on this visit the WiFi was not good in room, it usually is.
“very good hotel if you are driving”
the hotel is very good, the service is excellent.there is a member of staff who speaks good english there and it`s generally very good, but the downside is it`s on the highway and the nearest train or bus station is 5 miles away and the only way you can get there is by taxi, which costs about 10 euros each way,and therefore is really suitable for someone who is driving unless you put aside 20 euros a day for tax to get to the nearest station
“Good deal for your money”
Great little hotel for the price. It's a bit of a hike from BCN, but definitely a better deal than a lot of the hotels in the city. We would stay here again.
“The hotel is in the middle of nowhere”
The hotel itself wasn't so bad. One major problem--it was in the middle of nowhere-surrounded by a major highway. It cost my friend and I a lot of money to just travel back and forth to the hotel. In addition, the hotel was so far out that most cab drivers did not know how to reach it. We also didn't see much of the city of Barcelona because we spent so much time traveling.
“TOO FAR”
Very plain hotel, way too far for decent transport to the city.. rooms were clean and the beds comfortable though.
“Economy, 1 or 2 night hotel”
This hotel is maybe good for a last minute stay or a short 1 or 2 night stay by yourself. Other than that find somewhere else. The hotel is built in the middle of a main highway, so it is more like a truck stop than anything. There is nothing within walking distance except for a gas station and the truck stop bar. Stay somewhere else.
“What restaurant?”
Hotel was fine. We stayed on a Saturday and arrived at 17.00. I asked if we needed to book a table in the restaurant and the guy on reception said 'no' but it didn't open until 20.00. We had a few drinks to kill the time(this hotel is right on the motorway with nothing around!) but when we presented ourselves for dinner the restaurant was in darkness! The same guy I asked about booking a table was still on reception. I asked what the situation was only to be told 'I heard this afternoon that it won't open tonight'. Was I furious or what! When I asked to see the Duty Manager he said there wasn't one. Because of it's position we spent 1 1/2 hrs looking for somewhere to eat and finished up in a scruffy cafe where we had inedible food. When I checked out I asked a different guy why the restaurant was closed the night before and he said 'We never open on Saturday or Sunday'. Pity we weren't told. That is why I have rated the hotel itself highly but I would not darken it's doors again.
