“Always a Pleasure”

I stay at the EDSA Shangri-La when I visit Manila every 3 months for business. I have had both good and bad experiences, but overall it always feels like a vacation getaway rather than a business trip. The staff is courteous and helpful, the hotel always helps you feel right at home, and teh pool side bar really helps ease the pain of being away from home. Although the prices are a bit high for room service and drinks, the hotel makes it worth every penny.

“Lovely hotel to relax”

I enjoyed our stay in Mactan Shangrila. Our room is kept clean and comfortable but nothing outstanding. I love the sorrounding area and the swimming pool is fantastic. The restaurants are great. I like Aqua restaurant for its fantastic view. It is very pleasant to sit for breakfast and enjoy the sea and pool view and the sun. If you like a variety of choices for breakfast go to Tides restaurant where they also serve lovely Filipino ,Chinese,Korean,Japanese dishes and fantastic selections of breads and fruits. Mangoes from Cebu are a must. The Buko bar is nice if you like to relax with a view of the sea and the pool. All the bars and restauranta are worth trying. But, Buko bar is my favourite. We had a fantastic time in the Resort and we also tried the Spa. I personally like to thank the staff in the Cowgrill restaurant for making our dining time memorable by presenting us with a surprised Anniversary cake. The staff are very helful and pleasant and always happy. I like to see happy faces first thing in the morning and keep up the good work.

“Good, but Shangri-La Boracay so much better”

I found the hotel okay but value for money the Boracay Shangri-La is far superior! As other reviewers have commented the onsite dining is expensive compared to other locations. The hotel has a nice private beach but outside of the hotel life is pretty grim and the traffic into town is often terrible, so a quick shopping trip takes three to four hours. Overall okay but having been to Boracay this is a poor second. The staff were excellent.

“Great snorkeling for kids”

Very kids friendly. The hotel beach is a great snorkeling place. Lots of fish. To our expeirence, it is only second to the Great Barrier of Australia and sina-island of Egypt. To my son, a first time snorkeler, it was very exciting. He just snorkeled every day and did not even care to spend time in the swimming pool. They also have nice pools with water slides, mini-golf, in-door kids adventure zone. The food is so so. Spa rooms look nice but we did not use. The resort is good and suficient. No need to go out. Out side neibourhood is not that nice. The location is isolated from outside world. Hard to get a taxi, but the hotel provides shuttle bus to town center and airport with charge.

“Cebu's best hotel”

Hotel was fantastic, especially for family with kids. It has several pools, its own beach, many complimentary activities and several restaurant. What I really enjoyed was BBQ Buffet at the Buko-Bar. You can enjoy buffet with cultural performance. BTW it was a bit difficult to catch a taxi.

“Great hotel”

45 mins from Cebu city centre but a bus is available for the shoppers. Hotel a bit of an ugly building but gardens are beautiful, beach and sea are clean and staff are wonderful. Probably the best hotel in the area.

“Easter Paradise”

A beautiful spot with a lovely private beach and amazing swimming pool. The kids were fully entertained the entire time.Sea life so close to the shore made for fantastic snorkelling for all the family. A short 15 minute ride from the airport by air conditioned hotel coach made it hassle free. Lots of good food options. Cowrie Cove is a beautiful setting, however the seafood was disappointing - stick to the meat and vegetable dishes. Tides buffet was a great selection and the theme nights were very well done. We stayed in an Ocean Wing refurbished room and it was comfortable, clean and well decorated. It had a bit of an unpleasant smell which was the only problem we encountered. A great idea to have a small telescopic clothesline on the balcony for all those wet swimmers. We are already planning our next visit

“Best Hotel in Mactan island”

If you go for the family vacation, the best, but business no no no. Too far from everything.
