“Great snorkeling for kids”

Very kids friendly. The hotel beach is a great snorkeling place. Lots of fish. To our expeirence, it is only second to the Great Barrier of Australia and sina-island of Egypt. To my son, a first time snorkeler, it was very exciting. He just snorkeled every day and did not even care to spend time in the swimming pool. They also have nice pools with water slides, mini-golf, in-door kids adventure zone. The food is so so. Spa rooms look nice but we did not use. The resort is good and suficient. No need to go out. Out side neibourhood is not that nice. The location is isolated from outside world. Hard to get a taxi, but the hotel provides shuttle bus to town center and airport with charge.

“Philippines' best resort - family geared category”

Excellent place to chill Out ESP when you have yOu have young children with you. Shang has all sorts of program lined-up for the week for everyoneto partake be it adult or child focused activity. Great outdoor activities too...didn't really have to leave the resort!!! Lots of restaurants to choose from to suit your palate for the day!! Wide selection of dishes from different flavors arOund the world - truly won't let you down.

“Always a Pleasure”

I stay at the EDSA Shangri-La when I visit Manila every 3 months for business. I have had both good and bad experiences, but overall it always feels like a vacation getaway rather than a business trip. The staff is courteous and helpful, the hotel always helps you feel right at home, and teh pool side bar really helps ease the pain of being away from home. Although the prices are a bit high for room service and drinks, the hotel makes it worth every penny.

Dining

Congo Grill is a ten minute walk or 2 minute cab ride, and it a must when visiting, teh food is amazing, service is outstanding, and the prices, you wont believe. Afterwards you can go 2 blocks away to a place called Eat My English and have drink and an affordable price with music that makes you feel like your back home.

“cebu shangri-la not 5 star hotel, they charge you on everything and overcharge!”

Shangri-la mactan cebu not a 5 star, I would say it's a 4 star, My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks room is small, old T.V , the bed uncomfortable. I had to get another room for my parent's, and they dont activate the key for 2 nights i was dissappointed. The staff are friendly and clean sorroundings. , i had try pizza , seafood, buffet and even chinese food it was ok ...They charge you on EVERYTHING and OVERCHARGE! so, becareful...

“Second time back”

This was my second visit in a month. I love this place and the staff. It's a fabulous location that is easy to get to. On this visit I was given a room that smelled quite bad. I mentioned it on check in but didn't ask for another room. After I spent some time on the beach I was ready for sleep (I work nights). The room smelled too bad and was very noisy as it was located by the elevator. After complaining the manager called to tell me there was another room available and the staff would move me. I was very pleased and the rest of the stay was incredible. A great customer organization really shows when handling less than great customer experiences. The Shangri La management took care of me. I appreciate how this was handled.

“Cebu is a bed place to go for travel”

Cebu airport was horrible. I will not go to Cebu anymore in the future. We stayed 2nights in Marriott in Cebu city and 4nights in Shangri-la booked from Expedia. Marriott level was low. However, it was as we expected considering their price. Shangri-la was unsatisfactory level of what we were expected considering their high price. Reception was very good. However, room was not. They do not set-up/make-up the room thinking on customer's side. ie. Water does not sink well from the bath when I took shower / irregularity of the beds(we asked them to stick two double beds so my wife and bay can sleep together) / bed smell on pillows. Facilities were ok. especially, the beach was excellent. However, attitude of some of employees were rude(some from Tides restaurant, and reception when I called from my room). I guess they do not get payed well. I do not suggest to take food from AQUA restaurant. This restaurant was the most terrible restaurant I have taken in 5star hotel in my life. As an overview Cebu is a bad place for travelling. The following answers will be answers of shangri-la and my rating will be based on quality considering their price.

Area recommendations

There is only one good reason to go Cebu. Beach was beatiful and sea level was very flat with many fish. But I do not recommend to go Cebu for traveling. There is nothing but the beach.

Shopping

Another good thing about Cebu would be cheap and delicious dried fruits. Fill up your bags with dried fruits!!

“Cebu's best hotel”

Hotel was fantastic, especially for family with kids. It has several pools, its own beach, many complimentary activities and several restaurant. What I really enjoyed was BBQ Buffet at the Buko-Bar. You can enjoy buffet with cultural performance. BTW it was a bit difficult to catch a taxi.

Area recommendations

If you plan a relaxed vacation, go to hotel in Maktan area, Cebu City.
