“Defiantly I will be back”
A very respectful, polite, and well mannered staff, really they know how to treat tourist, for me and I think for everybody friendly staff is one of the most important element which encourage you to come again. In regards to the SPA services I do not need to say that they the best I have ever seen on all hotels I staid on.T
“Would go back anytime - the staff make this a special visit”
The highlight staying at the Movenpick Cebu has to be the staff. Philippine people are always friendly and accommodating, but the staff at the Movenpick were exceptional. As a lone traveller they made me feel very welcome and were always ready to chat and ensure I was feeling lonely. The hotel itself was very comfortable and with the new managers will I'm sure only improve. The breakfast was a little disappointing as they try to cater for Korean, Japanese, Philippine and western customers so it is quite a hodge podge. Plenty of fruit and freshly backed breads and pastries, but the hot food was pretty unappetising. The room was comfortable and great views and a very comfortable bed. Highly recommended.
“Great location”
We picked this hotel because it was next to the Shangrila which we originally wanted to book but did not allow a family of 4 people in a room. The Hilton (now Movenpick) has huge suites with 2 bedrooms. There are 2 balconies, 1 in the master bedroom and 1 in the living room. A nice touch are the fresh mangoes provided on a daily basis for free as part of the accomodations. The site is right next to the Island Banca Cruise, a company which provides island hopping, scuba diving and other water sport services. There are also other vendors nearby that cost less but the IBC was the most professional and organized. The lobby is very airy and spacious which is great especially for a beach front resort. The private beach is white sand and one can kayak, snorkel and feed fish with equipment rental available (free for certain packages).
“Absolutely Pointless”
This Hotel is a classic tourist trap. The hotel does have characteristics of a 4 star hotel but the pricing is ridiculous and use of the facilities and amenities is restricted. Let me explain each complaint in a brief bullet. This is in no way an angry customer ranting about poor services; this is a fellow traveler trying to warn parents and spouses, hoping to book a romantic or family get away, not to waste their money and vacation here. Pricing – Insane pricing schemes, a hamburger cost me 1230 pesos, that’s 26 dollars! I would write more about the pricing but expedia would block the post...Absolute Tourist TRAP! Facilities and amenities use is restricted: Pool closes at 10 pm, beach closes at 6 pm, beach is 200 feet long, white sands, but just 200 feet long. The beach and pool are under arm guard. I don’t think the guard will shoot you, but there is no way to slip into the pool or beach after hours. Beach towels can not be taken to your rooms. If you bring a towel from your room the concierge staff asks you to take it back. Shuttle buses going to Cebu city are three in all, three trips and allow for no longer then a 3 hour stay down town. Dont stay here, far better hotels, far cheaper, available on the island
“Hotel no longer in existence”
The hotel was nice and had a great pool and beach area. However, this hotel has been bought by a Swiss company so is no longer available. March 31st was the last day as the Hilton hotel.
