“The place to be seen”
OMG, this was the place to be. My only hiccup was the bed gave way on the 3rd night. The staff kindly temporarily moved me to an interim room until check out time where i was upgraded to a suite, wow.
“We shall return”
I explained everything in my travel experience.
“great . Would go back tomorrow!!!”
the location, service and amenities of the hotel and associated beach were fantastic!!!
“5 Star+ Hotel”
Would highly recomment this hotel to anyone visiting Cannes. Service is top notch. At check in got upgraded to Classic Room Superior at no added cost. Concierge speak english and extremely helpful with directions etc. Internet use is complimentary. Location is perfect - 15 min walk to train station. The breakfast buffet is a must try, yes it is $34EUR but so worth it.
“Grande Dame of Cannes”
The Carlton is right in the middle of the loevely boulevard that careeses the coastline of Cannes - La Croisette. She is La Grande Dame of the boulevard and th oldest hotel in Cannes. The rate s were quite reasonable in Seotember. On arrival we decided to upgrade to a room on the 6th floor with a balcony overlooking the side street area with an ocean view as well. We were very happy that we did so. The Concierge is excellent and very trustworthy for all restaurant recommendations. Bon appetit!
“Lovely Hotel, Ideal Location”
With "grande dame" type hotels there is always a risk that it is living off its past glories and that service will be huffy to guests who aren't celebrities. But the Carlton was absolutely first-class. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom big enough by French standards; it had been completely modernized fairly recently (it seems, judging by condition) and the furnishings were simple but good quality, hence relaxing, not like some hotels with heavy flocked wallpaper and stiff furnishings. The breakfast buffet was of the quality one would expect from this class of hotel. Few expedia reviewers comment on the other guests, but they should, because the other guests can greatly affect one's hotel experience. In the Carlton the other guests were of many varied nationalities but all looked genteel and prosperous, and were well-mannered, perfectly in keeping with the hotel's image. Sole quibble was the slightly temperamental lobby WiFi.
“Old world in the riviera”
Stylish hotel of the old world flavour. Very friendly staff. Very happy with room. Only criticism was breakfast and the worst coffee for years! Recommend early evening champagne and canapes event. Great value at prices currently available.
“wonderful”
everything perfect
“Lived up to its reputation!”
A beautiful location, beautiful hotel, however it had none of the stuffiness or pretentiousness of other leading hotels. We had 2 lovely nights in a classic room, small but perfectly formed. I had mentioned in an email to the hotel that it was our wedding anniversary (hoping for a room upgrade...no luck there!) but instead they sent up a lovely cake to our room....very thoughtful. Would LOVE to go again but can't afford it after the bar bill!
“A grand classic hotel”
We arrived at the end of the film festival in Cannes. While the hotel was fully booked the first couple of days we were there, it was never crowded to the point of being unpleasant. The room was better than I expected. We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was uniformly very helpful and English was never a problem.
