I had high hopes for this resort. Where to start.. from the moment you land you are bombarded with people trying to sell you excursions. They do not take no for an answer. After being in travel for 12 hours capacity to manage the onslaught was tough. We find our prepaid shuttle because the resort doest have one. We get to the resort and the onslaught continued .. agressivly asking for us to upgrade to "diamond status", this was $50 a day per person, for not a whole lot. We began to check in and of course the room wasnt ready, i cant be upset we were there 4 hours prior to check in. They took our luggage that had our bathing suits and we just had to site for 4 hours in the lobby. Despite choosing and paying for a king size bed with an ocean view, they didnt have it and wouldn't until the next day. So they gave me our room number with 2 queen beds. The receptionist was poor at her job to say the least. She gave us a 300 credit to use. We didnt learn until checkout we needed to go to guest services to redeem and only certian services were covered...me and my partner had an amazing experience at the spa, but im not sure i would have went if i knew it was going to be full price...gone $400. This was never explained and we lost out on that opportunity. We were then greeted by another staff member who decided to try to sell excursions and upgrades. We told him several times we were all set and just needed to get settled...he begrugingly walked away and we never heard from him again

The resort is absolutely beautiful & the staff keeps the pool area & their stretch of the beach as clean as possible. The property is about a 10min walk to the hotel zone where there are clubs, food, bars & entertainment. If i could change anything it would be the “panhandling” on the beach — coming up to you while you’re lounging in your chair asking if you’d like to buy (insert random items here) all day long. You literally won’t say “no” enough. Also the Mexican restaurant wasn’t very good. I was obviously expecting much more because we are in Mexico. Catching elevators was a drag as well however, the property is pretty big so it’s understandable but other than that amazing & i will be coming back! :)

I like the view of the ocean the pool and the cleanest of the property. The drinks were very weak I did not like the wait time of the elevators and the restaraunt restrictions.

I like the staff especially the bartenders at the swim up bar and the taboo lounge. The AC in our room was not working properly and we reported and nothing was done. Food options were ok. I was hoping for Mexican authentic food but instead we got food that I can get here in the USA. Which they could change the food options.

The resort is beautiful, the staff were so nice, the only downfall in this was the food was not the greatest. An improvement in the food will be good.

Staff was very kind and welcoming. The food was yummy and there were lots of options if something tasted bad. Hotel was very clean. On site parties were also very fun. Would definitely recommend or come back.

We loved our stay at the Royalton chic. It is geared towards a younger crowd so be mindful when booking. We would not have chosen the Chichén Itzá excursion in hindsight and will say were a bit mislead by the staff promoting it (no description of the actual excursion, no description of it being a full 12 hour day and extremely lengthy bus ride both ways with numerous stops). So we did feel that was a waste of money for my fiancé and I to go and felt it wasted a whole day of time we could have enjoyed at the resort. Wouldn’t have been angry or selected this excursion if the staff selling it was more open about the extensive nature of this particular excursion. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

I celebrated my birthday solo at Royalton Chic and opted for the Diamond Club. The property is gorgeous and impeccably clean, with modern and tasteful decor. The pools are in excellent condition, and the beach is pristine, given its beachfront location. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and room service was consistently prompt. Entertainment and after parties following the night shows were top-tier, featuring an excellent mix of music across genres. The elevators posed no issues. Diamond Club was absolutely worth it for me. My assigned butler, Cesar, was attentive and extremely helpful. Thanks to him, reservations were a breeze, and he even accommodated my last-minute requests and changes, ensuring my birthday was special. The Diamond Club lounge offered top-shelf liquor, and attending a Diamond Club dinner with a massive spread and an excellent performance and after party was a highlight. The pool and beach staff were amazing. The steakhouse and buffets were excellent, and the ice cream/gelato shop was a delightful treat. The pizza shop and munchies were perfect for quick bites. However, I wasn’t too impressed with the Asian Restaurant. Additionally, I paid extra for Cloud 9, and this seven-course dining experience exceeded expectations, earning a 20/10 rating. I highly recommend this resort!

Went for a girls trip from April 25-April 30 with two close friends. Elevators were not as slow as everyone else writes about. Lots of activities and things to do. Staff & Bartenders especially were really helpful (shoutout to Elmer & Angel from Taboo Lounge Bar). We did not do Diamond Club and felt the stay was worth it. The food was nothing to write home about, but the buffet options were solid. Overall, had a blast and made my first trip to Cancun memorable.

We had such a beautiful time from start to finish. The level of service provided from each staff member is unparalleled. The Royalton CHIC is TOP Notch. Located in the Hotel Zone just a 10 minute walk from the action!! All I have to say is Diamond 💎 Club…The beach, the pools, the rooms, the food options (only thing is portion size at some restaurants are small), but all above my expectations.. I can’t even begin to tell you. We had Butler Service from the AWESOME & GORGEOUS Samara. She was the best! So attentive, knowledgeable, sweet, & diligent with assisting us with reservations and recommendations. If you plan to stay in Cancun, the Royalton CHIC will NOT disappoint.

I became violently ill after dinner at the Hunter restaurant there. I had to call a Dr. to my room to the tune of $350. My vacation was ruined I’m afraid. I informed management at checkout. They said they had no other complaints, so basically, “Too BAD.” I was disappointed and probably won’t stay there again.

The water was shut off on our second day pretty much all day long until 5pm at night. We kept running into issues and the staff didn’t seem to care or take initiative. My boyfriend booked us a private romantic dinner, and due to weather it was rescheduled in one of the restaurants. However he was specifically told that it would be a private dinner away from restaurant guest. Nope they sat us right in the middle of the restaurant with no privacy whatsoever totally ruined my romantic experience and proposal. The staff was extremely undertrained and the people in Management positions should not be there specifically Johnny who was no help whatsoever. Thank you to Eduardo who finally stepped up and tried to fix the situation even though it was past that time. Staff needs to get their knowledge and training up it’s not there fault it’s the ones in charge. How does a hotel get the water shut off most of the day???? Ridiculous!

You pay a price to upgrade to diamond and then still have to pay to upgrade to premium liquor. The upgrade was not work it. The hotel needs some maintenance our floor smelled like mildew. The staff was nice and tried to accommodate us for any inconvenience.

Honestly check in was smooth and service was great . Food was ok not good to be honest . Our butler luz was great and would go beyond to make vacation perfect . Waiters and beach butlers were great beach waiter Abel made vacation great for us. Jorge was always great with us as well . One thing that made my experience unpleasant was vendors around the beach ,some would get upset if you didn’t want to purchase anything to the point they would harass you until you would finally give them your money so you can enjoy your “luxury vacation “. Personally I felt unsafe with one vendor in the resort diamond club area beach who was selling coconuts he threaten me with some type of sharp object and was sticking is middle finger at me and cursing at me . How is this considered a luxury resort when you can’t even enjoy time at the resort beach . Resort really needs to do with something with these vendors . I repeat I will never come back to this resort and recommend you to not come unless you want to feel harassed on your vacation and feel unsafe .

Pros: good view, good food, sushi was actually good, decent sized pool, there is air conditioning and a fan and the drinks are good. Staff is really nice and friendly Cons: the 300 dollar voucher isn’t a voucher it’s basically a booklet they give you with like a bunch of 20 dollar coupons on things, the elevator does take awhile since there’s only like 5 but it’s getting better Overall loved the stay the hotel was nice and close to the strip would come again
