“Great Canberra Location”

The best thing about the Crowne Plaza was a great staff, very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable about Canberra. It is situated right in the city centre so was in walking distance to the shops, cafes, bars and public transport. There was a lovely park next door with a playground if you wanted to have some outside time with the children. The room was clean and comfortable, beds are showing signs of wear, the twin rooms have double beds only so could get a little cosy if you are used to a larger bed. The air con worked well, the windows opened so you could have fresh air. The views were great. We didn't avail ourelves of the in-house restaurant as travelling with children it was too expensive per head, but staff happily pointed out local cafes nearby that suited the budget. Only downside was that the pool was an outdoor one - not so good on a chilly Canberra morning. The gym was well equiped. Would happily stay there again.

“great deal”

We had a room virtually without a view,3rd floor overlooking part of the city, but we could keep the blinds open the whole time without worring wether people could see in. A top floor room would have fabulous but seeing we got the room on a hot deal at the right price we are not complaning. We used to stay at another hotel in the main street but if we come to Canberra again we will stay at the Crown. The only dissapointment was the price of drinks at the bar. Swimming pool was great as well, & a well aquitted gym. Nice & close to the casino but they don't have pokies. Strange for a casino. Have to get the labour party to change their attitude.

“Would stay there again!”

Staff were particularly helpful and welcoming. Location is also handy. Just wish the fire alarm didn't go off at 11:30pm......

“Excellent hotel in Canberra CBD”

A very good hotel, offering a high level of service. Staff appeared to go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Rooms and common areas were well appointed, clean and regularly maintained.

“One night stay”

The hotel as a whole from the outside looks good but the room we stayed in needs an upgrade badly. The taps were hard to turn because they're so old. Also at breakfast time, it took so long to get our coffees. Apart from that, we were quite happy with our stay. Thanks.

“Staff make up for scaffolds”

The hotel was undergoing renovation when we visited, but staff were at great pains to ensure this didn't inconvenience us too much. Everyone we dealt with was extremely obliging.

“Generally happy”

It was a nice and decent hotel but not sure it deserved the 4 star rating. It is centrally located making it easy to walk to the shops and to restauarnts and not too hard to reach by car. The breakfast buffet was reasonable although the staff need to be a little more careful keeping it clean and tidy. Also, it could have done with some salad ingredients. Had a very groovy pancake machine though!
