“Excellent”
The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I arrived at 6.30am because I was going to go on a 7.30am Great Barrier Reef cruise. My room wasn't available yet, but I was able to check in, was given a large towel to take with me on the boat, and was allowed to use all of their facilities. The room was spacious and gorgeous. Breakfast and dinner in their award-winning Tamarind restaurant were delicious. The location is excellent: only a few minute-walk to the harbour from which the tours start.
“Underwhelmed - probably a 3 start hotel by US standards.”
I chose this hotel because I thought it would be a more upscale hotel in a central location. Based on the reviews, I expected it to be at least 4 stars. Well, it's really a 3 star hotel by US standards. The staff was unenthused and the whole place seemed dated. Would probably recommend the Hilton or Shangri-La instead.
“Will definately be back”
Everything was great about the hotel. The food and service at the Chinese Restaurant was fabulous. Only there for one night so only tried one restaurant, but have heard from others that all food places in hotel are great. The price was definately worth it. The rooms were also big. Loved everything about it.

“Nice, clean, and comfortable hotel, ideal location”
Very comfortable beds with special additional pillows that you can request. Nice large bathroom with separate toilet area. Staff was helpful. Free 30 mins of internet per day was very helpful while traveling internationally. The hotel had an ideal location close to both the wharf and main esplanade. Apparently they had some sort of wildlife attraction at the top floor of the hotel. We got to visit the koala and take pics of him for free without having to pay to do the "cuddle a koala" photo. However, the casino was the smallest I've ever seen and I had no desire to gamble there - I'd much rather gamble in Las Vegas. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay and I'd definitely recommend it.

again, nice place i thought it was a good deal for the money, our room was to die for, hotel staff needs improvement... little on the stuffy side there...we would stay again mainly because of location... and the room... but very expensive so if you use alot of the amenities think about another place.
“happy stayers”
The hotel was nice, a little bit dissapointed with the pool as it states " poolside bar" when this is actually room service you can get brough to the pool area. Apart from that the staff were great, the room and hotel was great overall! Food from the resturants within the casion where great, really good service. i would definately stay here again if i go back to Cairns!
“The Highlight of Cairns hotelry”
Upon entrance to the foyer one realizes that manners and good taste are important to the Pullman staff and residence layout. From the choices of ramp to stairs, to desks, placement of the concierge and color schemes, the Pullman works on behalf of the guest. It attracts a large vestige of Asian tourists, at least during the holidays. Everything you need is close by and the only drawback to finances at the Pullman is the 1.5% surcharge for using credit cards. The Environmental drawback is NO recycling and it is a huge energy and water consumer.
“Fabulous place to stay”
The hotel is in an excellent location - close to the terminal reef where you can take a cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef. It is within walking distance to the Esplanade where great restaurants, stores and the night markets are located. The room was fabulous - a balcony, jet tub, a sitting area and great shutters for privacy. I would definitely stay here again.
“Amazing experience = highly recommended”
I was impressed from the second I was welcomed to the hotel to the check out experience. They sit you down to check you in and then asked about the "special request" I had written on my Expedia request. They exceeded my request and gave me an upgrade. The hotel has many great services and a resort feel. The best customer service I have seen in the hotel industry and I have travelled a lot. Thank you!
