“If you do the research, you'll choose to stay here!”

Simply amazing accommodations! We wanted a place on the beach with wi-fi, close to local restaurants and markets. After doing the research, we settled on Roydon Beachfront Apartments. To our pleasant surprise, the apartment was much larger than we expected, equipped with all the appliances, cookware, and furniture to make ourselves at home. Property Manager Eddie H. arranged all our tours and ground transportation, and provided spot-on recommendations for local restaurants. Everyone at Roydon was friendly, courteous, and professional. We met families who have been making Roydon their home away from home for over 19 years. We can’t wait to go back!

Area recommendations

We recommend Trinity Beach over staying in Cairns because we prefer being close to the beach. First time travelers to the Cairns area may not be aware that the city of Cairns does not have a beach.

When to go

Not sure about other times of the year, but we went in October, and the weather was awesome. The days were getting longer and the temperatures warmer, ranging from 28-30 Celsius (82-86 Fahrenheit) in the daytime. Dives on the Reef had clear visibility – of course, aim for sunny calm days.

Getting there

Trinity Beach is just north of Cairns, about 15-20 minute's drive. You can either take a bus or hire a car. Most tours provide bus pickup next to Roydon Beachfront Apartments.

Most of what you need is in walking distance from Roydon Beachfront Apartments. Most tours provide bus pickup next to the property.

Must see

There are several tours that offer scuba diving and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. Eddie can recommend a tour to fit your preference. Book early!

Shopping

Local shops and markets are in close proximity to Roydon Beachfront Apartments. With purchases of $30+, Trinity Beach IGA supermarket transports you and your groceries back to your accommodations free of charge.

Dining

If you like finding great restaurants frequented by locals, Trinity Beach has some good ones. Blue Moon Grill and L’Unico get are top picks. Owen and Karen at Blue Moon provide excellent service!

Family-friendly activities

Trinity Beach itself offers sandy beaches with a life-guarded swim area. There is a children’s play area next to the beach and a sidewalk that spans the beach. The accommodations are mostly apartment style vs. hotels, so it offers more of a residential atmosphere than the city of Cairns, and generally more affordable accommodations than the resort area of Port Douglas.

Outdoors or beach

Roydon Beachfront Apartments overlooks the beach. They also have a nice outdoor pool area with loungers.

“Wonderful accommodation and service”

Massive, modern, bright, clean apartment directly facing the sea - 20 meters to the beach. Great facilities: washing machine, tumble drier, big range of quality kitchen utensils, big modern TV in living room and bedroom, free fast unlimited access Internet, complimentary beach towels, pool at rear of hotel with no sea breeze. The managers, Eddie and Julie, were friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble (they arrange pick up from airport - better and cheaper than airport shuffle). Highly recommended.

“lovely honeymoon”

From the moment we entered our appartment our stay was everything and more than we had anticapated. The managers of the motel were very good to us in having our favourite wine cooling in the fridge when we arrived late on our first night. Our hosts were extreamly adapt at organising our day trips and excursions around cairns. We could not fault the accomadation or the service provided by the motel ant the managers.

“Looking forward to our next visit!”

We really can not fault these lovely apartments and hosts. What more can you ask for than a beautiful view over the ocean with clean and very comfortable apartments. We really didnt need to eat out as the apartment is like home freom home, however we found the local cafe and cafe bar and grill to be great food and service. We are looking forward to our next trip North to stay at the Beachfront again, we would recomend these to couples or family as there is heaps of room for a family in the apartments. “In need of vacations...”

Well we really needed vacations. We've elected to go to Beachfront Apartments on Trinity Beach and it was a good choice for us. The appartment were spacious, clean, and provided with all of the things that were required for meal preparation and clothes washing. It is located next to the beach, give access to 2 pools. A couple of restaurant are nearby. A grocery store is not far walking and the liquor store is just next door on the street. I was afraid the tavern just adjacent to the appartment would be noisy but it's not the case, couldn't hear it. I'd recommand this location for families or couple desiring a relax environment, quiet place, and not expecting too much night life. Cheers from Newcastle

Not between november and march as there are deadly jellyfish - you then need to swim in a very small protected area of the beach.

“A relaxing break”

The hotel was directly across the road from a wonderful beach. The hotel and surrounds were clean. There are many top quality restaurants within walking distances. The bus stop is next door that can take you anywhere you need to go - no need to hire a car. Eddie was a wonderful host assisting us to book day trips out to the reef and the sky rail - both of which were brilliantly organised. Eddie even helped us choose the right day to go out to the reef for optimum weather conditions. He also organised our transfers to and from the airport (which were reasonable priced) and advised a company who delivered groceries to our door so the fridge was stocked when we checked in. The end result was a relaxing holiday with our two teenage kids where we were able to sit back and relax while others did our worrying and organising for us! We would happily return again.

Area recommendations

Trinity Beach was a wonderful location as it is a short bus ride to Cairns or Port Douglas if you can drag yourself away from the sand and the water!

“Terrific location”

Our first time at Trinity Beach - what an experience! We love our beaches and the location of Beachfront Apartments is just the best. Our spacious and very well equipped self contained apartment is no more than 15 metres from the sand. A great spot for those looking for some serenity and tranquility. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and obliging. The facilities are well maintained and lacking nothing. We can't speak more highly of it.

The beach and the cafes/restaurants which were all faultless.

Getting around

The local bus service is cheap and brilliant, connecting the beaches in the area with each other and Cairns. The bus drivers will contact each other to ensure that you don't miss your connecting bus - ours even waited for our next bus to arrive before it left the stop. Plenty of the facilities in the area run courtesy buses at no charge to help you get to and from your accomodation. Always ask - it pays to check.

Shopping

The staff at the local small supermarket in Trinity Beach Road will cheerfully take both you and your shopping back to your holiday apartment at no charge during their normal trading hours. Just ask at the cash registers.

“One of the Best”

One the the best stays ever!!! You could not ask for better accommodation! Impeccable service, facilities, room cleanliness and access to local treasures and activities. The staff were friendly, informative and incredibly professional. They respected our privacy yet offered assistance at the drop of a hat. I started my 3 day stay with a late arrival and finished with an early check out and all without any problems. On arrival 2 bedroom apartment was immaculate and internet was accessed with entering the password the manager had left for us. We will back asap! I highly, highly recommend this resort.

“Highly recommend!!!”

My sister and I had the pleasure of staying here for a week this August and it was more than we could have hoped for. It was the first time I had booked a room and it was actually BIGGER than the pictures made it look! The rooms are well equipped and we had a great view. Trinity Beach is a quiet small town which was the appeal for us. The bus stop is right next door and the trip to Cairns was easy and cheap to do a bit of shopping. Eddie was great helping us find the right dive trip to suit our needs. Beach access is great the tavern next door is great for some food and a cold drinks after a day in the sun. We will be back!!!

Area recommendations

Take the public transit to Cairns for the day! The public bus system is cheap and easy to use if you dont rent a car. We also had a great time doing a reef excurison with Reef Experience and Sea Star. Both are among the more affordable trips to the reef if your interested in scuba or snorkeling. You can book right at the office!

“Great spot and great hospitality”

We just had a relaxing few days at Beachfront. I read a lot of positive reviews on Trip Advisor and they were all true; the hosts were extremely helpful, we got a great upgrade and spent the week overlooking the sea. Couldn't have been better.

Area recommendations

Palm Cove, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation, Great Barrier Reef, Green Island - Trinity Beach is very small. These places are larger and a bit more lively, even in winter.
