“Best hotel in South America”
Superb old fashioned quality of service and elegance, you need hardly lift a finger -the butler will do it all for you.Loved the HUGE bed -must have been at least 6'6" wide. All it needs is a swimming pool, which they should have in 2/3 years, which will make the only place in BA to stay! Should be a 6 star not just a 5 star.
“Alvear palace”
The service was excellent and the beds very comfortable
“Outstanding hotel presentation & personal service”
Outstanding hotel presentation and service. Dining and breakfast areas surperbly catered and furnished. Assistance with personal illness during five-day stay was excellent and made my visit quite memorable.
“Old School Buenos Aires”
The Alvear Palace is an example of the old style service hotel that is an extreme rarity in today's serviceless oriented world. You are actually greeted at your arriving vehicle and assisted from the outset. The hotel staff makes it seem effortless as they speed you through to the comfort of your room. We were escorted to our rooms and then introduced to the butler in charge of our floor. The rooms are beautifully decorated and kept very clean. They took care to ensure that our every need was addressed quietly and efficiently. The staff made sure you received your correct newspaper in the morning and provided complimentary shoe shining and pressing of two items upon your arrival. Coats and ties are required for dinner in their restuarant. Believe me you will feel out of place to wear otherwise, if they would even let you in. The same applies to the hotel in general. Nice dress jeans and a nice collared shirt goes a long way. In the evening slacks and collared shirts are the norm. For some people that would be a turnoff. For me, my family and the people we were traveling with it was a very welcomed change of pace and deeply appreciated. One of the conciereges at this hotel by the name of Esperanza, was spectacular at providing us great information about cultural events, dining and tours. Her recommendations as to which Tango show to attend was right on the mark. She knew her restauartns and made it a delightful eating expereince. I highly recommmend this hotel.
“Amazing Hotel!”
This was the finest hotel I have ever stayed in! Every detail is truly extraordinary-from the concierge service, the staff, the food, the location. It was such a treat to have that kind of service! We can't wait to go back!
“Beautiful classic hotel”
This is an excellent hotel. The service is superb. The rooms are large and comfortable. The service is five star. Breakfast buffet was expansive and of very high quality. We loved this hotel.
“Elegant Hospitality”
Our recent stay at the Alvear was a delight from the moment we arrived. The staff was warm and friendly and knew us by name. The concierge team was extremely helpful in planning activities for us ,including private tango lessons. The food and service was outstanding. Our beautiful suite was comfortable and kept immaculate by a well trained housekeeping staff. This old world hotel gets everything right, including the smallest details.
“Probably worth splurging to stay here”
I stayed at the Alvear last month when I was on vacation in Buenos Aires. Two friends and I splurged to stay here for two of our nights in the city. The hotel was very ornate and beautiful, with a lot of attention to detail. Overall the service was good but not excellent: a bellman did not help with our bags when we arrived but other staff members were helpful and friendly, and housekeeping was excellent. Our hotel room had two twin beds (which could be pushed together), a desk, tv cabinet, and two large closets, and it was quite spacious. The bathroom was also very spacious, with lots of counter space, a jacuzzi tub, and a shower. The gym was small but well-maintained and well-equipped with cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights, and a room for stretching. Overall we enjoyed staying at the Alvear. The service was perhaps not as perfect as we were expecting it to be, but otherwise the hotel is beautiful, the rooms extremely comfortable, and the location in Recoleta was convenient.
“Best hotel in Buenos Aires”
The Alvear Palace Hotel is a 5 star hotel in every sense of the term. All hotel staff anticipated our needs often times before we even realized we had needs. We were escorted to our room by a Bellman, and the Butler assigned to our floor. Before my travel companion even mentioned that she would need a better hairdryer, the Butler offered to bring one to the room. The staff working the doors throughout our stay welcomed us by name everytime we returned to the hotel, and offered to arrange transportation when we left. As far as the room, this was the nicest hotel room that I have ever stayed in. The bathroom was fantastic, the shower was amazing, and the "Hermes" soap and toiletries were a very nice touch. We truly felt like royalty during our entire stay, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a great experience in the Recoleta neighborhood in BA.
“a must go there, while in BA”
A great hotel, worth its cost, service is excellent, breakfast at the terrace garden is memorable moments.... bar is slightly too noisy but cigar room is cosy and warmer. a great moment of BA history
