“great location”
the hotel was just off the main port and so was within 2 minutes walking distance ofe verything. it is an old restored building and so that was very nice. would absolutely stay there again
“Great base to explore Marseille and surrounding area”
We stayed in one of the modern, light and airy apartments. They are sympathetically decorated, with modern, bright colours. The room was generously sized, with a lot of storage space and the kitchen was very well equipped with pans, glasses, cups and plates which gave us flexibility to cook our own food (there is a small supermarket and a bakery just round the corner). The bathroom was also light, modern and clean, with good shower pressure. The apartments are very well located at just 1 minute's walk from the Vieux Port which has a variety of restuarants and bars, as well as metro connections to the rest of Marseille. The staff were very helpful and happy to provide hairdryers, internet access etc on request. If we came back to Marseille we would definitely stay here again.
“Will definitely go back”
I chose Suite Affaire Marseille Vieux-Port because it has a kitchen and we can cook our own food. Its location near the old port is another attraction. We haven't been to Marseills before and all we could learn about the city and the hotel is through the internet. We found the room shown on the web was extremely attractive. Very cliche and clean. It turned out that the real room is just the same as it is shown on the web. Perhaps the hotel was just opened for one year and everything is still new. The staff of the hotel are extremely helpful I forgot to ask their names but the ladies on day and night shift are very friendly and responsive to your request. It is very important to new comers to the city. The hotel is one street behind the old port. Well connected with Metro and bus. A supermarket nearby which made us easy to get our food and other replenishment. As it is quite hot in Marseille during the day the availability of air-con is just perfect. Yet it is not necessary to turn on the air-con at night. Although there is no washing machine in the room but the staff will help you to do the laundry at 9 euro, including drying. It is quite a good deal. I will definelty go back to the hotel on my next visit to Marseills.
“nice affordable place”
This was an affordable place only 1 minute away from the much more expensive hotels. And still the place was comfortable and clean.
“Great price value...”
The hotel was great ! Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close of many things on the city; restaurants, metro, supermarket and tourist points.
“A great place to stay in the heart of old Marseill”
The hotel is very well located, only a block away from the Vieux Port, on a quiet street;within walking distance of any sight of interest in the old part of Marseille, very near the tourist information office, the starting point of cruises to the Chateau d'If and the calanques; near a subway station, on bus routes importaint to tourists.. My room had a small refrigerator, 2 stove rings, a microwave, dishes and cutlery, and of course a flat screen TV. There was a supermarket nearby where fruit, vegetables, and prepared food could be bought, so one does not have to incur high restaurant costs. The staff was very pleasant; one gets a code so it is possible to enter the building at any time of night. This hotel is not suitable for anyone with a rental car.
“Great little home from home in old port”
Wonderful location in the old port.Owner Fabrice and his staff very friendly and helpful.Hotel like a home from home, beautifully clean and beds very comfortable.
“Nice place to stay”
We were very surprised about the size of the room. It's very roomy. It's on the side street so it's not very noisy. Great location.
“Great location, clean and friendly hotel.”
Staff were friendly and helpful when needed. The room was nice and modern and clean on arrival. All the necessary cooking equipment was provided to use in the kitchenette. The location was really good being so close to the port, yet on a quiet street so not all to noisy. Very close by supermarket. Only two slight problems. Firstly, the wifi was not that strong and would sometimes cut off depending on position in the room. Secondly, the window looked out on the back of another building and so lots of balconies. This is probably expected in such narrow streets, but the shutters didn't close and there was only a thick curtain so you either had to be overlooked or cut out all light with the curtain. Neither of these were to big a problem though and i would have a problem staying there again.
“A good option for Marseille”
First thing to know - this is a serviced apartment, not a hotel. This means you don't have daily cleaning service, but it's cleaned after your stay is over. You also don't have such things as an iron/ironing board (at least one in your room) nor shampoo/conditioner or a hairdryer. On the other hand you get the benefit of a small but fully furnished kitchen, so if you're staying a while or want to stay on the cheap you can cook everything yourself. The breakfast is pretty lame by French standards but there are plenty of nice places within 2 blocks to choose from. They have free wireless internet in rooms. The place is very clean and only a block behind the Vieux Port which is convenient but quiet - or at least it should be except for the guys who run the store across the road who sit out in the street making noise all night. The owners also smoke constantly and while they do it outside the foyer smells of stale smoke all the time. The staff are very nice, helpful and speak excellent English. They also had good advice about what to do and where to go around town.
