“Perfect for a summer stay”
Firstly, the apartment had two air conditioners and they were most welcome as it was 38 deg (C) while we were there. The place was clean and comfortable, but I would recommend that travellers bring their own cleaning cloth, detergent and toilet paper. We thought these might have been provided but they weren't. There was a dishwasher tablet (just the one), but no dishwashing liquid and there was also no replacement toilet paper. We managed to scavenge spare dishwasher tablets from the cleaners. It's no more than a 30 minute walk to the centre of Aix from this place and we thought that was fine. It's a nice walk and the supermarket is at about the half way point. I'd certainly recommend it to others, as long as they are ready to supply some of their own cleaning products!
“Good place to stay at”
The apartment was very clean. The desk clerks were welcoming and very nice. They gave us all the information that we needed. There is an indoor parking garage where we left our car. The apartment is 20 minutes walking to the old Aix en Provence. There is a bus stop about 50m from the building. We never took the bus. We chose to walk every day. The first part (about 10 minutes) is on a main busy road, which means that the walk is not very "romantic". But it still was ok. We would go back to this place without any hesitation.
“Great to have a kitchenette!”
This was a great choice for us! We had 4 people and we were all comfortable in this apartment-like hotel. There's a grocery store within walking distance, so it was nice to be able to bring food back to make at home and avoid eating every meal out. There's not an oven, but we used the microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher with great joy. Two possible negatives:1) it's a long hike to downtown Aix, so a bus or rental car is necessary. 2)The staff wasn't available when we wanted to check out at 8 or 8:30 am, so that slowed us down some in the morning. That could've probably been avoided if we'd arranged it in advance, though. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I will stay there again the next time I go to southern France.
“Good and clean site, but this is all ?”
Everything is fine, clean and in its place, but this is no regular hotel, it is an Appartment hotel with very "somber"and "official" design (not even one picture on the bare walls ) and you are supposed to take with you your garbage and bring your own dishwashing soap ! Except this everything was OK abd the description of everything in the site was acurate.
“great for budget travelers”
This is more an appartment/studio/condo complex than a hotel. Reception is very friendly, but only open during daytime. If you arrive after 8pm, make sure you call before hand to make sure you are not locked out. Rooms are very clean, with kitchenette. Internet 5 Eur for 1 hour. Loaction is hard to find (behind Kyriad), but reasonably close to old town (by bus). Overall excellent quality/price ratio, and the kitchenette attractive to budget travelers.
“great space for price”
Other reviews of this hotel were strikingly bad but I found that the value was great since Aix is an expensive city and the rooms are quite large. It is not a luxury hotel, but it has all the conveniences necessary, a bus stop to the downtown area about 5 minutes walking distance, and the staff was extraordinarily nice and helpful. Finding the hotel is a bit tricky - Bus Stop Crosy on Line 6, then walk over the overpass and turn right at the Kyriad.
“Good value, tough challenge to check in”
The place is clean and quiet, close to freeway and within walking distance to both old town Aix and to a new shopping mega-center. The challenge is to find it! GPS shows it incorrectly (it is actually between A53 and an unnamed lane, behind Kyriad). The only little sign pointing to it is on Route de Galice eastbound. Also reception isn't manned after 8 pm. The late-arrival phone # has a French-only voice mail menu (press 4 or 5). There were lost and confused late-night arrivals almost nightly. Lastly, value is pretty good but extra charges (underground parking, internet access, laundry) may be steep. And please be careful with the little parking spot out in front, most small cars won't negotiate its curb without body damage, unless you can rig a makeshift ramp of rocks or wood.
“Apartment/hotel in Aix-en-Provence”
This apartment hotel was very basic. The kitchen has a small amount of dishes & utensils but no dish soap. You get one bath towel when you check in & that's it, no maid service of any type. The office is closed on weekends from noon until 3pm. Using my pedometer, I determined that the main square is l.5 miles from the hotel & we found no restaurants or grocery stores close by. The bus is about 2 blocks away & runs about every 20 minutes on week days. Many of the rooms have pull out sofa beds; however, they found a room with an actual bed for us when we requested it. My main reason for not recommending this hotel is the location; it's far from everything.
“Basic accomodation”
We went to this hotel because the rate was very cheap. However, you should not expect anything else but basic accomodation. Even then, I think there are some basic elements that should have been there. When we got to our room, we noticed the carpet in the hallway was dirty. Our comforters were also stained. And they don't give you enough toilet paper to last for 2 nights (!) and there are no tissues. Also note that there is no housekeeping that goes through the rooms every night. And they expect you to remove all the sheets and put them in a pile for them to pick up when you leave. As I said, we went there for the price, because it's really nothing better than "a place to crash".
“OK but watch a few things...”
No free internet, you have to buy their expensive minute-card to access it. The free parking means you can park on the street. Overall clean and OK place; the bed is a sofa bed so not too comfortable.
