“Excellent location”

The Liberty is a real treat. On the Charles, quite well kept, lots of eat & drink options, convenient to downtown and the harbor. The Yard was quite nice on a Friday evening. Room was very comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will stay again.

“Best jail stay ever!”

A very nice hotel to stay in. It has special appeal because it uses the old Charles Street Jail as its lobby, bars, dining facilities, and meeting rooms. The sleeping rooms are in an attached modern wing behind the old jail, and have all the expected conveniences of a first class hotel. Good historical information is posted in the lobby about the origins and life of the building as a jail.

“Nice Getaway Weekend.”

We were treated "first class" from the time we arrived until we left. Doormen were always helpful with directions and recommendations. For our long weekend, we only brought casual clothes. If you are planning to socialize in the lounges on site, I recommend that you bring some business/dress attire as you will feel out of place in casual attire. This seems to be local hot spot as there were crowds every night waiting to get in. We were guests and the hotel security made every effort to not delay hotel customers entry so the nightlife at the facility never delayed our entry. The facility cleanliness was first class and we really enjoyed our time at the Liberty Hotel.

“Very friendly staff”

The staff were extremely friendly. The seemed honestly interested in why I was in town and pursued the conversation- it wasn't a cursory, "trained" service thing. Very helpful. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

“Impressive hotel with and impressive staff!”

My stay at the Liberty was probably the best hotel experience that I've had in years, if not ever. The staff there is not only extremely helpful, but also extremely friendly. The staff at the front desk helped us plan out our subway route to Fenway and even offered to print our tickets right at the desk rather than going up to the business center. They gave us a brief history of the hotel upon check-in and pointed out the structural areas of the hotel that are original from the jail. After our great experience checking in, we headed to our room and ran into another staffer at the elevator. He enthusiastically welcomed us to the hotel and asked for our room number. He then hit the floor number on our elevator and gave us precise directions to the room and wished us a great stay as he exited to his floor. At most hotels, you're lucky if the staff even gives you a smile. Beyond the staff, the hotel was beautiful, the jail decor was perfectly executed without sacrificing any amenities. Our room was spacious and clean with a view of the water. The location couldn't have been better. It was right next to a subway station and walking distance from the majority of historical sites and the Commons. I was worried whenI found out that it was next to a hospital that we'd hear ambulances all night, but the brick walls must have dampened it because we had a great night's sleep! I'd recommend it to anyone!
