“All that you need.......”

This is a no frills budget hotel that provides you with exactly what you need. A clean bed to sleep in and a great little breakfast. The staff were great and even though their English wasn't good, they were charming and ALWAYS willing to help. Take it from me, if you book this hotel, you will have no problems with enjoying your stay in Bordeaux :):):)

“All you need”

If you are looking for a hotel which has friendly staff, and who can speak English, then Hotel Stars is the place to choose. It's about 100 metres from Gare St Jean, the very impressive tram goes right passed the door which takes you into the centre of the town & the breakfast that they serve at 6 euros is a bargain. Great place!! Choose it, you can't go wrong!!

“Convenient and comfortable”

A very short walk from the train station, with a tram stop right outside if you choose to travel into the centre without walking (10 mins walk max). Supermarket right around the corner for things you've forgotten. Never stopped for breakfast so can't comment there. Only thing was lack of air conditioning but a desk fan was ample in the the 32 degree heat when we were there. V friendly staff - even night porter! Recommended.

“Friendly, basic hotel”

The staff were very friendly and obliging, the room was rather small, but it was clean and fresh bedding and towels were supplied every day. Handy for the train station and right next to a tram stop so in a good position for exploring the area. Noisy coach party arrived on our second day which spoilt our sleep from then on however, as walls very thin and every door banging and raised voice could be heard all night.

“For a short break”

No frills hotel. On the plus side:Friendly staff, clean rooms, in-house breakfast available. On the down side: very tiny basic shower room. Noisy too(tramway stops outside). Fine if you just want a place to sleep. If you are looking for a more comfy or romantic setting, this is not for you! I would go again for a short break.

“Good Short Stay”

Rooms were quite small so good for a stay of 1 or 2 nights but a bit cramped for longer stays. Clean and comfortable and staff very good. Tram stop right outside makes getting around Bordeaux very easy.

“OK overnighter”

Cheap hotel, but clean sheets, comfortable bed, good breakfast. Easy for the station and trams. Would use it again for a one night stopover.

“Basic hotel”

The hotel was basic and the room quite small. It is fine for a lad's weekend but not the place to take a new girlfriend. The hotel is very near the railway station so travel to and from the airport and elsewhere was very easy. The very smart trams stop outside the hotel again making travelling very easy. The downside is that the hotel is in a 'not so nice' area of the city and we felt uncomfortable on times. The river area near the hotel is being developed and will probably be very nice when it is finished. Further along the river is much better at present. There are good areas of Bordeaux, the parks and gardens are particularly nice, but these are a long walk from the hotel. Most of the nearby restaurants are opposite the railway station so do not have a particularly good outlook. However, the food there was excellent.

“very much no frills”

cheap, nothing special, somewhere to stay. Definitely nothing to be impressed about but I was not unhappy either.

“ok, could be better”

Nautical theme a bit over the top,and decor somewhat tired looking. Room pretty small, but bed comfy. No drinks making facilities in room. No air con and the curtain was too small for the window, making it very hot. Bathroom a very odd (and small) plastic cabin affair. Right outside the tram stop which is handy for town but can be noisy.
