“Boutique hotel right on the beach”
The Crown Regency appears to be one of the newest properties on White Beach, the top tourist spot in Boracay. It is at the quieter end of White Beach but only a short walk away from all the nightlife. The public areas of the property are unimpressive and the restaurant is tiny, but this is hardly an issue as White Beach is the dining and drinking epicentre of the island. The penthouse room we stayed in was huge - it could probably have been marketed as a junior suite. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was adequate with all the amenities you would expect at this pricepoint. I was a little disappointed that there was no balcony (the standard rooms all have small balconies) and no view, but again, relatively few properties in White Beach offer beachviews, and in 30 seconds' walk you are on the beach anyway. One positve of this is that the room was very quiet. On balance I would probably stay there again if the price was right, but there are several other properties I would probably choose first if the availability was there.
“Never Again”
This review is not about Boracay. I would go back to the island in an instant, but I definitely would not stay at the Crown Regency Beach Resort. 1. Nobody was at Caticlan airport to pick us up as previously arranged. 2. They double booked us. We reserved the Presidential Suite and was told it was not available the first night. Offered $20 in food/drink/services. 3. Put us in the Penthouse suite. Got to room and the AC was not on. Waited 20 minutes but it never got cool. Had to change rooms. 4. Had to ask for key to small refrigerator. 5. Breakfast was small and food was never hot. 6. Accidentally broke glass at breakfast and they charged us 150 Php!! Can you believe that? 7. Bad odor throughout. 8. Construction ongoing. Didn't really bother me but I heard a British couple complain to which the front desk staff replied, "Do you want me to go over and ask them to keep the noise down?" Seriously? Did you really just say that? 9. Very low water pressure. Hot water? Hopefully! 9. So much staff but they never seemed to know who was doing what. 10. Tried to raise the price of previously agreed upon airport transfer fee. Had to print email to prove agreement. Summary: Felt like a customer, not a guest. Never again.
“Not for the partier”
The hotel is just off boat station 3 which is fine for scuba, sailing, and other water sports. If your into the night life this is too far from the action. As I had my family along, this was perfect. There were a few restaurants close but most of the night life was closer to station 2. Staff was very pleasant and helpful
“Definitely will go back.”
The hotel is located in Station 3 and not as busy as in the Station 2 but a walking distance from most activities in the island.
“Good time”
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was nice because it was always deserted.
“going back is a must”
The hotel was very good in term of services, comfort and location. However station 2 is a better location.
“Beachfront and Basic”
The staff at the Crown Regency were extremely friendly, and well attentive to the services offered. Daily breakfast was palatable and no frills. There are a few mysteries and irritations about the facilites though. This hotel is a semifinished complex with exposed elevator shafts and no elevators. It looks as if they ran out of money to finish, as there was no work done during our stay. I wouldn't recommend a room on the 3rd or 4th floor. There is also a daily occurrence of a power outage, which in itself is not a big deal. The huge diesel generator that comes on is the problem. It sounded like a Mac truck was idling on our balcony for 30 min to an hour each day. Also, the residents behind the hotel like to blast their hip-hip music through huge sub-woofers everyday from 5-9pm. Aside from those issues, it would have been a perfect stay if our room was in the front of the hotel, toward the ocean.
“almost like paradise”
The Crown Regency is easily confused with the older more established Boracay Regency at Station 2, so make sure you tell the tricycle to go to Station 3 or you'll have a long walk to the hotel. I stayed ib the Presidential Suite and the room was exceptional. A small kitchen and living room led to sliding doors which opened on the pool, which was steps from the ocean. It was truly amazing. The king size bed, large tv and huge bathroom with walk in shower and jacuzzi were all nice features of the room. This hotel has just opened and is still getting established but for the price and amenities it is an excellent choice and I did not want to leave.
