“Good Hotel for the $”

A business associate and I stayed at the Yu Yang in March '06--and found the experience to be quite good. Room decor is a bit dated, but clean, spacious, and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with updated fixtures, and fresh towels and bedding were the norm. Rooms are equipped with an ethernet hookup, and internet access was easy and relatively inexpensive. Reception, concierge, and bell staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The "Western Coffee Shop" offered an excellent breakfast buffet daily, with a variety of traditional Asian and Western fare. Since breakfast is such an important meal--I found great satisfaction with this. The location of the hotel is convenient--10 min walk from subway, 15 min walk from Santilun (Embassy) district and Lufthansa Center. I enjoyed the neighborhood--there are 3 great restaurants right across from the hotel, a well-stocked convenience store, and a relaxing massage parlor. The neighborhood is varied, and offers some great opportunities for exploration. I enjoyed my stay at the Yu Yang, and recommend it to the budget traveler.

“Good Hotel”

Located on airport side of Beijing. Great breakfast buffet in hotel. Just West are 3 good restruants with one being one of the best places to eat in Beijing. 150 yards West of hotel is a local market with fresh fruits and vegetables. $1+ cab fee to subway. $3-5 cab fee to the major Beijing sites. Front Staff spoke good english and were very helpful.

“Watch out for late night calls”

i got a call at 1 am from the reception desk saying i havent paid a deposit (?) and they are sending someone up right away with a credit card machine. after 5 minutes of negotiations i hangup and definately not going back again! lots more better hotels available in beijing, though the foot massage across the road from this one was good!

“Rip off”

This hotel is clean and well situated to Beijing airport. Those are the only two good things about it. The staff seem to be looking for an angle to rip you off at any opportunity. Tried to charge me twice for my key deposit and then refused to refund it when I booked out. Not grate service considering how many good hotels there are in Beijing.
