“Chinese Traditional Courtyard”
It is real Chinese traditional courtyard. I can honestly say it’s the best overall hotel I’ve ever stayed in. If you want a cultural experience this is smack in the middle of a real Hutong with sights and sounds you will not get in a western style hotel. The rooms are decorated in a perfect, authentic Chinese style. The room is clean and comfortable,The staff is made up of wonderful. They are extremely helpful in suggesting places or helping you to locate places. The price is very reasonable as well. Overall, a very romantic spot for couples or anyone who wants to feel the real China.
“A REAL CHINA EXPERIENCE”
This Hotel is the best place to stay if you want a great China experience. This is the Hotel for you, It is located the Drum Tower and older section of the city. This is a throw back Hotel with a GREAT STAFF!!! You will not find a better or more helpfull staff any where.
“GREAT location with tons of character”
Conveniently located, cozy, simple, practical and efficient. Friendly staff. The courtyard style, all the fun of a hostel with all the amenities, professionalism and cleanliness of a hotel.Provides great welcome to first-time beijing visitors.
“Good atmosphere!”
LOVED the location. Down a local street off the main road, lots of good restaurants around, shops, bars. Everyone working at the hotel was super friendly and helpful. Had a nice courtyard with tables, Chinese decorations, and swinging bench! :)
“Very Primitive and small”
This Hotel was cosy, but it was out of the way of everything. It was located in an older part of the city and at first I was a little intiminated. To my surprise, I found out the people were very friendly and helpful in this area.
“Beijing City Courtyard Hotel”
Very helpful staff, good budget hotel in central location, clean rooms, safe, good shower, Air-Conditioning. I recommend this hotel to the cost-conscious traveller.
“Good basic choice”
Very helpful staff with adequate English. Quaint, with a certain charm. The bed was hard as a rock, but that is pretty common in Asia. Our cab driver would not drive down the road/alley the hotel is located on...only letting us off at the main road and pointing down the alleyway. Luckily some locals helped direct us; it was still quite a hike in from the main street. The front desk did book a cab for our ride to the airport, and for an extra fee did come to the front door of the hotel. Being 5 AM did help for him to not have to drive around all the pedestrians and bicycles. The immediate area around the hotel is pretty run down, but some of the nearby roads/alleyways ("hutong" in Chinese) are renovated with new and trendy shops.
“"Going Chinese"”
My hotel experience was great. The owner and receptionists were really accomodating. They can speak English well which made my stay more comfortable. The place is like a small China town with all the lanters, drum, kites, and other decorations in the lobby and terrace in the middle of the hotel. Although the water heater only lasts for five to ten minutes, I think it's enough to have a nice and warm bath. You just need turn it on again to make it work. The location of the hotel is a bit far from the subway station. It's a 15-20 minute walk. Nevertheless, I had a great and relaxing experience, If I'm going back to Beijing again, I will stay in this hotel again.
“Would go back there again!!”
Cute little hotel, very close to many places by bus&subway, the girls at the front desk knew English very well & helped with directions & writing them in chinese for the taxi driver if you were taking a taxi, the price was very good( since I booked it by Expedia .ca) only thing I had a problem with was finding it the 1st day for its hard to find but with help I finally did get there. Also since I didnt bring my laptop the hotel had free use of commuter to anyone who wanted to use it.
“Decent wee place”
The staff are as helpful as they can be. The rooms depending on your choice are all that you need, the air condtioning is essential and hasn't let me down. There is a laundry service just ask at the reception they will weigh it and give you a price before they do any of it. Plenty of nearby Chinese and Western resturants nearby(Tapas bar just opened round the corner 03/02/12) There is a free direction card on the reception desk take at least one of these as it is easier just to show it when looking to get back to the hotel.
