“Delightful Hotel”

The staff were very cordial and eager to make our stay enjoyable by showing us all the sites to visit in our limited time in Barcelona. Our room was comfortable and the buffet breakfast excellent - they even had soya milk available! Bathroom spacious but problem with the shower water leaking under the door which we reported upon leaving.

“Fun hotel in great location”

Great, fun and hip hotel. Still fairly new and a few minor design flaws to be worked out but that must be expected when converting an old building. We received an upgrade upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. A minor problem with the bathroom sink but it was fixed early the next morning. Very helpful staff will give maps/directions/suggestions for sights/restaurants/nights out. Free internet in the lobby and they'll print boarding passes. The buffet had lots of cold and hot choices but they should open a little earlier on weekends. But then again, it's Barcelona and people are expected to sleep in on weekends after those late dinners and clubbing! The lobby and rooms are painted hilariously bright colors and are very clean. Our Juliet balcony opened up to the street but no noise came in. Convenient full-service supermarket on the next block for water/snacks. First time stay at Roommate chain but would try others given our experience.

It was amazing the staff all spoke English and were helpful. The breakfast was good and the location was perfect. I would definitely stay there again. Lots of great restaurants and some shopping nearby. Love the fact that it was near Passeig de Gracia and two of Gaudi's works.

“Comfortable rooms”

The overall impression is good and safe. The breakfast was good and everything neatly laid. The room was not too small and it had a net radio. Lighting system is nice. Better than the average. The ventilation stopped altogether during the nights, which is not a recommended practice. However cooling and heating control was enabled at all times.

“excellent experience!”

The staff at room mate emma were extremely friendly & helpful upon arrival. Fluent english & great recommendations w/ regard to restaurants, clubs, bars in area! We were only there x 2 nts, so we relied on them heavily for suggestions -- they were able to quickly come up w/ rcommendations & easily navigate us w/ using the metro to get whee we wanted to go. Location was perfect w/ nightlife just around the corner (but not so much that sleep was disturbed). Tons of restaurants/shopping easily walkable on passeig de gracia. The modern look, design, & layout of the hotel is noteworthy. The only improvement I could mention would be to add another mirror somewhere in the room (there is only one small mirror in the bathroom w/ the toilet, which makes getting ready a little more challenging). But overall hands down, my husband and I LOVED this entire experience.

“Funky and fab”

Good location, just 10min walk into the centre, right near a metro, just round the corner from the gaudi apartment blocks and a quiet area. The reception area was starting to look a little faded but it was clean and still a good welcome to the hotel. The basic room was lovely, big shower and bathroom with a comfy bed and a safe. No view from the window but most places only face a wall so we weren't worried - having an inside room was quieter anyway. Breakfast was really cheap 6 euros for a buffet, you can get a coffee and croissant next door for 3 but it carried on until 12 so we just had a cheap early lunch! Reception and breakfast room staff were great and really friendly. Had a lovely stay, we'll defintely use a room-mate hotel again.

“Quiet and Comfortable”

This was a nice hotel. We had two twin beds. The beds are side by side, no room inbetween. The bathroom was nice and worked well. The only problem was with the shower, that the water would seep out past the glass door onto the bathroom floor. Beds were firm. AC worked well. The breakfast was good, they offered a good variety. The hotel is located in a residential area, so it is quiet but tourist places are a little far for walking distance.

“Gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous city!”

The hotel was easy to find and it was exactly like the pictures. The staff were super helpful and their english was excellent. We would definitely stay there again! It is a little bit out of the way, but an easy walk down to Las Ramblas past all the amazing shops! Well worth it! The beds are super comfy too!!

“I will be going back”

I do quite a lot of business travel and this hotel is exactly what I look for anywhere I go. It is clean, well maintained, the staff are very helpful and friendly (and, of course, multilingual), the room is comfortable, the shower was powerful and the wifi connection (free with the room rate) was quick, fast, and always available. I don't need to look anywhere else for a place to stay for my return trips to Barcelona, and I will certainly be checking to see if Room Mate has hotels in the other cities I visit.
