“Good Option: Sofitel Bangkok”

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was very nice. Took a 35th floor room with the offer of free breakfast, free high tea, free happy hour, free internet access. Very pleasant. The only issues I had is that since you couldn't use the hair dryer in the room, it would have been nice if someone had put some thought to putting an outlet anywhere near a mirror in the room. I had to dry my hair around the shelving for the tea pot. The other issue was that local calls were supposed to be included but apparently did not include cell phone numbers. I had charges of about $10 for phone calls that last 2 minutes. Ridiculous! Great location, pleasant staff.

“Great Hotel!”

Loved this hotel! Amazing staff, extremely hospitable. Would definitely stay there again. Do yourself a favor and do the room upgrade. WELL worth it with the better room, free unlimited cocktails during happy hour, breakfast, internet and coffee/tea all day. Well worth the extra $$$.

“A very pleasurable stay”

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Great location, superb facilities and sensational service throughout. The V9 Wine Bar on the 37th is a great place to meet friends for a wine before heading out and about. Gym & pool facilities great too. Can't wait to go back.

Grasshopper Bike Tours provide a variety of cycling experiences in and around Bangkok. A great way to get a wider experience of Bangkok life.

“Jai”

It was a good hotel and nice to stay in Bangkok, certainly not a great hotel by which I mean 5 star as itself rated and you would expect. It would be just a 4 star hotel as standard across Asia Pacific area. A couple of things that let down is, ~ the TV is still old 90's chunk. Considering itself being a 5 star, flat screen is a must. ~ housekeeping timing is way too random.

area near Siam BTS station has tons of hotel and it's convienent to shop and eat but nothing dead cheap in there as you thought in Bangkok.

“Not 5* as we were told but a good 4* none the less”

Excellent location in Silom 10 mins walking to all the markets and too much to see, tourist information and bookings desk was hidden amongst the longe furniture, so keep your eyes open for that. i little disapointed there was no ventilation windows, even smokers like fresh air. very helpful although the desk staff were either new or just didn't know, got sent from one person to the next to the next.

Dont always believe the weather forecasts, told us it was raining on line we had glorious sunshine 30+degree's

Tuk Tuk's will try and rip you off, always get prices from the hotel of a rough estimate

Boat tour meal is great value for money and will give you the chance to try many diferent foods

“A highly recommended hotel”

The hotel was beautiful. I had issues with the concierge who was never there - was not a fun experience. It's in an excellent location - in the middle of everything and close to the a couple of metro stations. It's definitely a highly recommended hotel and would stay there again.

“Good location and price-quality ratio; for a short stay”

Big hotel always busy with guests in a good location not far from major shopping and night life attractions. Interior and rooms require some fresh touch. Rooms are not always sound-proof. Very small open air swimming pool.

“Five Star Accor flagship but...count on Expedia Plus more”

As a world traveller, there are only a couple of hotel chains that I stay at when traveling between continents. Having stayed at many Sofitels and having built an affinity for the brand, I feel like Sofitel can be a great partner in breaking jetlag and getting adapted to a new city. Given this, I accidentally booked the hotel one day ahead of time and they refused to shift my reservation by a day, costing me one extra night". Expedia Plus, which many of you might not be aware of, is a benefit given to Expedia frequent users. Anyhow, they tried to get the hotel to shift the reservation but it was an apparent money grab even though the hotel is 60% full and the city is being plagued by bad press about terrorism. Anyhow, Expedia Plus offset the additional charges to me and Sofitel made their money. This hotel is simply an embarassment to the luxury flagship of the Sofitel brand and the Accor family. Thanks Expedia Plus! And to Accor, don't cheapen your brand by focusing on the immediate dollar. As for the hotel, it is clean, safe, and nice, but don't make a wrong move because trust me, you will pay for it dearly. Just hope Expedia supports you as it did me because you are all alone in this one and they will make you do the legwork in trying to fix it....
