“Comfort in Bangkok”
Leaving for our visit toThailand we had reservation for only the first two nights at the Ramada D' Ma. We enjoyed the hotel so much we extended for another two nights before going on to Chiang Mai. When we returned to Bangkok a week later we choose to return to the Ramada for another five nights. The staff was very helpful, the breakfast great, and the rooms were quite and comfortable and the pool was clean. The neighborhood is old Thailand, e.g. street vendors, small restaurants and shops which we like. Bob and Diana Spokane Valley, Washington USA
“It's OK, I'd go back.”
We stayed two different times... the first stay was fine. A week later, for the second stay the front desk was swamped and the hotel was over booked. I had pre-paid weeks in advance for an upgraded room, but we were checked into a room exactly like the first room we had... we were downgraded without a refund of the difference. Overall the hotel is OK, and the staff do the best they can, so I'd go back, but I'd book a basic room like I did for the first stay.
“Good hotel location not the best.”
Apart from a few glitches during check in i.e.left sitting for 1.5 hours after check in time this is a very good hotel. I found the room to be excellent. I was upgraded to an excellent room on the 22nd floor which more than compensated for the delay in check in. The room was spotless and the maid service excellent. She made a point of knowing what time I went to breakfast and had the room made up while I was eating so that it was ready on my return. The breakfast was good and the staff working the breakfast room gave really fantastic service quickly learning preferences for tea coffee etc and making sure cups were topped up. Front desk sevice needs some improvement. As mentioned above check in was sloppy and I was not impressed when I requested some plates to allow me to eat some takeaway food in my room and was told they would have to pay 100 baht per plate for the use of the hotel china. The main drawback for this hotel is the location. It is in a fairly run down area and is a long way from sky train good quality shops etc although there are some good small local restaurants, (the Everest indian is good). As an active senior I found it difficult to walk to local shops etc having to climb over steep road bridges and negotiate broken pavements. However all in all this is a good hotel and I would recommend it for most travellers.
“Comfortable stay”
All was good
“Can't wait to go back again”
As this hotel was offered in the package deal and enjoyed the D'MA before, I did not hesitate to book! The staff are very efficient, obliging and helpful. I cannot recommend this hotel high enough! You would be very hard to please if you were not satisfied.
“Good expereince except at the check in counter”
The hotel was good, ambient wise, comfort wise. Only thing that had frustrated was in the initial stage during check in time. The staff were not professionally trainined at teh time of our check in (9th September @ 12.00 pm) It took more thatn an hour to complete the check in process & the staff were not giving proper answers for our query.
“Good hotel for the price”
Here's everything you need to know: 1) The decor of the hotel, including the room rugs are slightly dated, but for the price of the hotel it does not matter. 2) The bathrooms are large and include amenities such as shaving kits, which is a nice touch. 3) The free breakfast is beyond worth it!!! So much good food and several types of juice or water is also included. 4) There is a pool and small gym on the 8th floor but I cannot comment on them because I didn't use them, though the pool looks very nice and is outdoors. 5) FREE unlimited wi-fi access is available in the lobby and on the 8th floor. It is also available on certain floors deemed "business" floors. 6) The surrounding neighborhood is a typical Bangkok neighborhood but don't be worried by this. I did a lot of walking and had no troubles. Yes, taxi's will solicit you but that happens on every corner in Bangkok. Just down the street the scene changes as that is the end of the business district. The vendors become nowhere to be found and the BTS train station is in site. 7) It's about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the BTS station from the hotel depending on how fast you walk. 8) The comfort of the bed is average. 9) The staff are helpful. 10) The rooms are large 11) The exchange rates offered by the hotel are lousy so I wouldn't recommend exchanging money at the hotel. 12) There are 3 elevators so waiting isn't a problem. 13) Overall, the hotel is a good value for the money.
“With so many hotels in Bangkok, not this one again”
The staff are quite helpful and friendly and the hotel is generally ok, but for the same price there are simply too many other options. I was on the non-smoking floor but smell of smoke seeped in from the air vent. The mattress was also very hard.
“Excellent stay”
The hotel is nice and clean all staff very helpful will stay when I go back to bkk
“Excellent quality in a dodgy area”
The hotel is located in a one way street and very dodgy area. However we were never concerned that we would be in trouble. The hotel personnel and cab drivers were extremely friendly. The hotel is the best at an awesome price (we did get a special deal). Every aspect of our stay at the Ramada was incredible and contributed to a fabulous holiday. We did struggle a bit with the communication. TIPS: * Make sure you know how much the cab driver is charging you in Baht and USD before you get in at the airport. * We scored a free ride to the shopping centre after buying tailored clothes and jewellery where the driver received commission
