“A good choice”
We did not want to stay in the shopping district. The surrounding neighborhood is not the prettiest, BUT the advantages are the view with the river location, access to transportation elsewhere by river commuter boat and/or skytrain, and hotel shuttle boat access to other hotels nearby for eating out. In other words, stay here and *visit* the Mandarin. You'll save enough money to make it worthwhile. Other feature: a 4th floor "beach" (sand, pool, beach chairs) overlooking the river. Final deal clincher: breakfast buffet is excellent and this hotel had a room rate with buffet included - most did not, or the price was much higher. Since these buffets typically cost $30 per person, the rate we got was excellent value.
“Not Impressed at all”
The front desk was not very friendly. In addition, this hotel charges $5 dls for 15 minutes use for the internet. And if you have to have a page printed at their business center, it costs you $1.30 per page. The beds are extremely small and you get much more value staying at a Hampton Inn than this property. I have stayed in many Hiltons, however, I can not tell you how disappointing this stay was at this Hilton. Normally, you have the nicest people in Bangkok, however, somehow, they managed to find not so friendly people here.
“Quite satisfied”
Outstanding massage at the hotel's spa. Great view from my room. Staff so attentive it almost became burdensome at times. All staff spoke English, naturally, though some were easier to understand than others. Restaurant food was fine, though not outstanding. Excellent concierge help arranging side trips.
“Great facility and super service.”
Hotel was great, location was good. Prices were pretty high for eating and other services. Spa was pretty expensive, but really excellant. Besides getting great massages my wife got a manacure, pedicure and her hair cut and she said it was as good as it gets.
“Not As good as prevous ocassions but still good enough”
I have stayed in this hotel many times and my wife and I love it. This time we were a bit surprised, starting with the confusion of "breakfast-included" and followed with teh fact that something was a bit different......we finally realized that the global metdown of 2008 and teh RED Shirts and YELLOW Shirts political upheaval that has taken place in Bankog has finallyhad an effect on this magnificent hotel and you can see that they sem to have less personnel and the maintenance seems to be less, all probably to save money....however the hotel is still great, with a great staff ready to help you and as clean as it can be with great restaurant and a magnificent location for visiting all the tourist locations in town. We will still use this hotel next time we are in Bankog.
“Nothinng less than "Wow" !!!”
I stayed in the hotel twice over the past six months, and found it to be the most exciting stay I've ever had as the vew from our suite is nothing less than spactular. Our stay was just wounderful, therestraurants were great, and a trip across the river - found a wounderful place to shop.
“Wonderful Stay”
Very convenient location. Easy assess to local tourist sites. Hotel staff at the Flow Restaurant was always prompt and friendly. Business center on 30th floor was easy access with very helpful staff. The hotels free river shuttles were very convenient. Hotel sponsored tour guide was very friendly and organized.
“Lovely hotel, impersonal service, we would not return.”
We booked a King Executive Suite as it was our honeymoon so we got to check in on the executive floor. The staff were rather slow (however we did get light refreshments) and we found during our whole stay that none of the staff on the executive floor could smile. We felt more like we should be the ones grateful for staying there, rather than us being made welcome. Our room was lovely, really big with an awesome view of the city however unfortunately this is the only point we can really rave about. Back to the Executive Floor, they have free drinks & appetisers each night, the cocktail range was great but the food was very poor, cheese cubes, 1 dip, bread and fruit - that was it each night!!! And, the floor was so packed one night we had to stand aound waiting for a seat, along with a number of others - the floor did not have an executive feel to it at all unfortunately.
“Fantastic hotel!”
The hotel was more than we expected. Beautifully decorated, service was excellent! We will return to the hotel and have recommended it to others.
“would go back again and would suggest it to friends”
same as above
