“Extremely Impressed”

Great Room, Excellent Room Service, great quality food, amazing location, easy accessibility to sky train, close to the best massage - Health land, in Bangkok and above all the pool had the best ambience. small, yet full of character. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only point to note is that internet was not free even after we paid a good deal of price for the room.

“Relaxing Pool Area”

The location is not close to the major tourist sites, but has a direct connection with the Sky Train system. The staff was excellent in all regards. The food services were all good and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The location is in a crowded business area and not a nice area to walk about. There are some smaller shopping centers nearby. Best to take the Sky Train which is a 10 minute ride direct to the major shopping mall. Great tropical pool area with WiFi available.

Area recommendations

For Liesure travelers with children, I would recommend a hotel along the river near the main tourist sites.

“Definitely recommend”

The hotel was beautiful, both the public areas and the room. The room was beautifully appointed and the bathroom was lovely. The service was perfect. The location was great - lots going on around the hotel in the street, but the hotel was peaceful and quiet inside. When we wanted a taxi the next morning to go to the Temple area, one was called for us and it immediately appeared. The buffet breakfast was beatiful and delicious.

“"Loved the Hotel and Location of the Sheraton Grande in Bangkok"”

What was so nice about the hotel is that you are dead center of the most popular Soi (Streets 1-55). Soi 1 is pretty crazy all day and night so its nice to visit but get back to some peace and quite just blocks away. Not to say that you are too far out, Soi 31 "Famous Cowboy street" is just two blocks in the other direction and the famous soi 55 with all its dining just a Tuk Tuk ride away.

Area recommendations

I say walk them all, Start at Nana street "Soi 1"... One of the Craziest "Dancer streets" there is... The Lazy Dog outdoor restaurant is a great place to sit and watch all the working people do their thing. After that, stroll down Sukhumvit toward Soi 31. Grab some trinkets with all the sidewalk sellers or grab a beer at on open street bar. Cowboy street is a must to at least walk through and see, they recently filmed "Hang Over 2" on this street.

Getting around

Eventhough Hotels will tell you not to... Take a Tuk Tuk (3 wheeler) ride down Sukmuhvit, its cheap and fun but you must tell him to stay on that street or they will go sides streets to beat traffic.

“Beautiful hotel, unmatched service!”

Stayed at the Sheraton Grande for five nights in Dec. 2010. The property has lots of character and Asian charm. Location couldn't be better, connected to the efficient train system and across the street from a small shopping center. Room was HUGE and well appointed. Bathroom was big with bathtub and separate shower stall, there's plenty of high quality towels and toiletries. Housekeeping was consistenly good as was turndown service. We tried room service and were truly impressed with value and quality! Don't miss the impressive breakfast buffet, it's worth every baht! One thing that cannot be missed is the level of attention given to guests. Supreme and shown consistenly by all staff. The best I have experienced in all my travels. Tips: We arranged all day trips/tours thru the hotel and were extremely satisfied. Don't bother with taxis, they are plenty and very, very cheap- however, Bangkok traffic jams are out of this world! Take the train!

“Bangkok oasis”

The hotel is a great oasis in busy Bangkok. The pool area is tropical with lovely plantings, grottos, and places to sit in and out of the water. The hotel bar happy hour was terrific, they knew our favorite drinks after one night and the jazz was not bad at all. The breakfast buffet was fabulous, lots of choices and the food was better than average buffet quality. The coffee was good and came in a big pot so there was no waving down the waiter for a refill like in most places, or you could order espresso drinks. Everyone was really nice and all the arrangements they made for us were perfect. The location is very convenient to the train, just across a bridge connected to the hotel, so you don't even have to go out on the street.
