“Hidden gem in Lovina...”
We just returned from our mini-getaway vacation. Amazing is the word I would use to describe our stay at Damai Lovina. It's a cozy resort in Northern Bali (near Lovina beach) with about 8 private bungalows - ours had an outdoor shower and a jacuzzi. The grounds are lush and green. It's nestled in the mountains of Northern Bali. If you like off-the-beaten track type of resorts but with first-class luxury service this is the place. The service was nothing short of fantastic! They were warm, accommodating and super-friendly. Everything about the service appeared to be "effort-less" but obviously with obvious attention to detail and work behind the scenes. Reception arranged a snorkeling trip for us to Manjangan Island (Western Bali). Or if you rather stay at the hotel there's an infinity pool and a private outdoor spa. The spa was great. I had the traditional Balinese massage and a aloe vera body wrap. The amazing part was to have the massage outdoors under a hut - it was so peaceful and relaxing. Last but not least, the food was so delicious. A perfect mix of east-west gourmet cuisine. The menu was put together by a 5-star chef and you can tell. The dishes were beautiful and scrumptious. It's the perfect place to unwind and get away from the tourist traps in Southern Bali. It is a bit of a trek but the resort provides transportation to and from the airport. I would definitely recommend Damai Lovina for couples looking for special retreat or honeymooners.
“Sheer Bliss”
This was our first experience in the northern region of Bali and were unsure where to stay. We were so happy we chose the Damai. Although not located on Lovina Beach but on the hillside overlooking the bay, car shuttle down the hill road and pick up was provided free of charge and easily organised. We had a Deluxe Villa which was very spacious, elegantly decorated and extremely comfortable, especially the outdoor shower/spa. The Damai restaurant food and service was the best I have had in Bali and for that matter in a lot of other countries also. We did intend to only have one meal in the restaurant but ended up eating there most nights. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for you. Our Butler "Effie" went out of her way to give us a wonderful experience in the township of Singaraja. A stay at the Damai is one of those experiences you will remember and always want to revisit, I know I certainly will go back. A few days here and all the worries of the world will melt away.
