“An extremely friendly experience in Auckland”
I was impressed from the moment my wife and I stepped out of the cab in the portico area. Doormen were overtly friendly and helpful. Similarly the hotel staff at reception. We received an upgrade to a Harbour view room, complimentary bubbly and chocolate assortment placed in the room. The room was clean and in perfect condition. It was quite and we had a marvellous view of the Harbour. Staff were polite, friendly and made us feel truly welcome. Our check-out experience was smooth, with a discount taxi booked for us by the staff.
“Terrific Hotel”
Great staff in a well located hotel
“One of the best”
Extremely well maintained and luxury hotel.
“Really Nice Hotel!”
Would stay there again -- has the little extras of robes, slippers etc. -- in the midst of many businesses, restaurants, theatre -- great view from my room.
“Very nice hotel.”
Very nice hotel and attached to the casino. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and the staff at the hotel was outstanding. Kevin the doorman was great and the concierge desk was very helpful.
“great hotel in auckland”
good hotel just up from the main street in Auckland. late night room service was ok & breakfast buffet was fine.
“wrong timing”
The hotel was lovely unfortunatly we visited at a time they were renovating which meant noise at night and we were woken up one morning at 7.30am (whilst on holidays) by the noise of new carpet being layed on our floor. We complained to the front desk and requested someone get back to us and advise if more works would be continuing the next day as we'd move floors however never heard back.
“Excellent Hotel in the heart of Auckland!!”
We stayed at the Sky City Grand hotel in August 2011 and found the hotel to be conviniently located and walking distance to the Vie Duct area (restaurants by the water), the Britomart area (new area with shopping and restaurants - strongly recommend restaurant Cafe Hanoi and Ebisu), New Market and the CBD. You can essentially walk to all these places in less than 10 mins. The hotel is modern and clean and the service is great.. The concierge could have better knowledge of what to see and do - we found them at times not really knowing how to appropriately inform us and give us clear directions. The pool and sauna are currently under rednovations. The casino is directly across the road and the hotel is situated in safe area within the the city. We never had an issue and we walked the streets in the early hours of the morning. We were upgraded to a suite which had stunning views of Auckland as it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. Hot Tip - do not pay for tickets to Sky City tower (the hotel will provide you with either a free ticket to go up or a buy one get one free ticket - saving you aprox $50.
“Excellent Quailty Accomodation”
This hotel is situated across the road from the Sky Tower and is surrounded by plenty of facilities. A short walk to the city centre and all the city can offer. Bus stops, tour desks and restaurants are only a few steps away. Staff were excellent and the hotel has first class facilities. The only complaint is that the internet is expensive, otherwise excellent.
“Grand stay”
From the minute we arrived to when we left the hotel staff were very friendly. We used valet parking and they were fantastic, always had our car to us very promptly.
