“Excellent service, nice views of the city, definitely 5 star!"”

This hotel was definitely a 5 star experience. So much so, that you had to use your key card for EVERYTHING (elevators, pool, gym, etc.) The bridge over to Sky City was not always available, and we were never sure why. It is more of an "adult" hotel, in that the only pool available is a lap pool. The rooms were immaculate, however, void of any "personality." The view of the Sky City Tower (and the people jumping off) was really cool. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We would highlty recommend this hotel, especially if you get the great deal we got on Expedia!!

Being in NZ only a short time it was great to find somewhere that was easy to get to and then get around Auckland. Hotel was great and allowed me to check in at 5.30 in the morning after i arrived from the US. Great facilities and fantastic staff.

“Modern, Stylish, Clean, 1st Class Hotel”

SkyCity Grand was such a wonderful experience. The staff was very cordial and helpful. The room was a decent size and very clean. It had amenenties such as bathrobes with slippers, an iron and ironing board, hotpot with complimentary tea, turndown service at night and the staff placed 2 gourmet chocolates on the pillows. The location is ideal and is near many of the main attractions in Auckland. Also the main lobby is very stylish but elegant. It is a perfect place to meet for either business or social purposes.

“Excellent Hotel in the heart of Auckland!!”

We stayed at the Sky City Grand hotel in August 2011 and found the hotel to be conviniently located and walking distance to the Vie Duct area (restaurants by the water), the Britomart area (new area with shopping and restaurants - strongly recommend restaurant Cafe Hanoi and Ebisu), New Market and the CBD. You can essentially walk to all these places in less than 10 mins. The hotel is modern and clean and the service is great.. The concierge could have better knowledge of what to see and do - we found them at times not really knowing how to appropriately inform us and give us clear directions. The pool and sauna are currently under rednovations. The casino is directly across the road and the hotel is situated in safe area within the the city. We never had an issue and we walked the streets in the early hours of the morning. We were upgraded to a suite which had stunning views of Auckland as it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. Hot Tip - do not pay for tickets to Sky City tower (the hotel will provide you with either a free ticket to go up or a buy one get one free ticket - saving you aprox $50.

“Great Casino Hotel”

The restaurant Dine was great. Good food and service. The window in our room was great! It basically went from floor to ceiling and you could just stare out at the sky and the Sky Tower. It only allowed one hour of free wifi. The hotel is walking distance from almost anything, which is very helpful. We didn't even need to take a cab.

The hotel is in a convenient location. Compared to what's around in Auckland, the location is in a good busy area. There are plenty of resturants, shops and stores guranteed to keep you occupied, if you are into that sort of thing. The hotel is directly opposite the skytower, a major tourist attraction here where you can get a great view of the city from the levels above. You won't need to fear getting lost, because the tower is clearly visible and is well known around town. The hotel looks impressive and the room and bathroom was good and spacious. The staff was also polite and helpful. There didn't seem to be a computer room that could be used, but I was offered an ipad instead. All-in-all, it was a very pleasant experience.

“Good value, good service, good location”

A very modern, European-style room in a location that you can walk to everything. It is a short walk to the quay or to Mt. Eden and all of the restaurants. While it is fun to watch the jumping off the Sky City Tower, the complex itself was somewhat disappointing to me, but I would choose this hotel again.
