“Convenient and affordable”

The proximity to ANC Airport was the main reason we spent two nights there. The 24-hr shuttle service was a plus, as well as the inside restaurant.

“Smelled Like Stale Cigarette Smoke.”

The whole hotel smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The carpets look dirty and worn. The room furniture looked spare. Not the best quality. There are no elevators at this hotel which for me was hard because I had heavy luggage. I did get some help. I guess they reserve the lower rooms for those who are handicapped. But there were no official porters there. Had to wait for the hotel taxi driver to return to the hotel then I got the help. One nice thing about the hotel is that it is very close to the airport but I did not hear any jet take-offs. It was quiet that way. There were some loud customers in the hallway (I assumed they were customers).

“Not that impressed but will go back”

I was not given information that another entrance was available which was closer to my room. The room number plaques were dark and could barely see which way my room was so too unecessary hallways before i finally located my room. The door did not close all the way on its own so had to pull/push on it in order for it to close. When i got back to my room the door was not closed all the way after the maid was there. Had trouble accessing the internet but once on it was ok. And no elevators. I had to pack my heavy bag up some flights of stairs. Would not have been so bad if i knew there was a closer entrance. I was happy there was a restaurant there and the food was good. Other than the above it was a good stay. Quiet during the day/night. I would go back for a short stay.

“Not a good value paid high rate even by Alaskan standards for modest accommodation.”

Ceiling in laundry room leaks when a guest in room above does not tuck in shower curtain. Internet access is great w. free WiFi. No free cookie as described in write up was offered. Great local bus to get around town but available only during mid afternoon and evening without availability before 13:50 or 1:50 PM. Good transit van to and from rail station is complimentary and easy to book. No Complimentary breakfast. Fitness center available outside hotel for high daily rate only.

Except for the drunks knocking on doors at 12:00AM the experience was satisfactory.

“Unimpressed”

Was given a smoking room, despite having reserved a non-smoking room. My clothes reeked just having been in contact with the bedding. I had to wash everything when I got home. There were cigarette burns on the toilet and other places as well. The blinds were stained and filthy when I closed them to shut out the Midnight Sun.

They could not find the reservation at first and only after I provided documents establishing the dates confirmed provided us a room. There were no elevators and part of the facilities appeared to be under repair.

I lived in Anchorage for 33 years, having moved to WA state in 2009. Although I knew of all the hotels around; I had a 6 am flight out to return to WA and I wanted to be as close to the airport as I could. and this fit my needs. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and convenient. The hotel employees I had contact with while staying at the hotel were courteous and helpful.
