“A Gem of a Hotel”
We just loved this place! The setting is exquisite and the hotel itself (and the staff) is just marvelous. The rooms and the view from each room are outstanding, and everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating. Out room was made up within a half an hour of our going down for breakfast (which was on the terrace with an unbelievable view of the water), and the concierge ladies (most especially Margot) were extremely helpful for arranging local trips. We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant the first night, and I even had a massage at the spa (the masseuse is very good). I can't imagine a better place for a vacation!
“Lovely hotel”
This hotel has been recently completely renovated and is now finished. Luckily, the essence of Italian style has been retained, although with a modern and light colour scheme. We were treated with complete charm and courtesy at every turn. The roof terrace has unbelievable views of the Mediterranean, which can be enjoyed from poolside, or the rooftop restaurant - a special place at night with neighbouring towns lit up and the moon shining on the water. Like so many Ravello hotels, parking is limited and a fee is charged, but the good news is that the parking can be accessed from the main road upon entry to Ravello along the sea, as long as you keep a keen eye out for the Hotel Villa Fraulo sign on the right before the road curves right into the tunnel leading into the village. Once you are in the tiny parking area, you can take your bags to your room via the back elevator. This is a treat, as we saw dozens of people lugging suitcases up stairs into their hotels because there was no access by car/bus.. Perhaps because we stayed 4 nights, we were upgraded from our original booking to a higher room, so can't comment on what a basic room may be like. The one we had was sumptuous. Every room has a sea view, so no chance of a disappointment there. We would go back in a heartbeat, to both the hotel and Ravello itself.
“Lovely Hotel, with wonderful views .”
An excellent Hotel with stunning views. We booked a Deluxe room for better views and were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a suite. The hotel stuff are extremely helpful and the location is ideal. There are lots of superb restaurants close by. We would recommend using a private chaffeur for a day tour of the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii.
“A Gem Among Gems”
My husband and I stayed in Ravello at Villa Fraulo because of positive commentaries we found on the internet. Even then it exceeded our expectations. The hotel only recently opened after a five-year renovation process. We were told it is owned by a family and that the mother grew up on the property. She has transformed it into a beautiful hotel with wonderful views, spectacular art, gorgeous silk curtains and linens and exceptional furniture in the rooms and the common areas. The views from our room and the terrace and pool are too amazing for words (some of the best in town). The staff is incredible: Margot and Flora obtained tickets for anything we needed or wanted - tickets to concerts at Villa Ruffalo, lunch at Palazzo Sasso and a private boat tour of the Amalfi coast. Antonio and Anthony were very helpful. The manager, Pompeo, made sure our stay was exceptional. The hotel rooms were much larger than other comparable four-star hotels in the area and the inside rooms are brand new with all conceivable amenities. This hotel has an enviable location in Ravello since it has both street access for easy luggage handling (a potential problem for other hotels) and the closest pedestrian access to the piazza. We will return soon!
“"A Gem in Ravello"”
We could not have been happier with this hotel. Matteo, the owner, was most welcoming & made you feel like part of the family. All the staff we came into contact with were extremely helpful & pleasant. The views are stunning from this hotel & Ravello is right there to explore. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants quality of the highest standard.
“great hotel”
Lovely hotel with stunning views and very friendly staff. Only complaint was the restaurant wasn't open when we got in from an evening flight, although they did knock something up for us, so not really a complaint -more an observation! We'll go there again for a longer stay.
“Great hotel”
I was only staying at this hotel for a couple of nights with work but the hotel staff were very friendly and the rooms were great. Very pretty, spacious and all rooms in the hotel have the beautiful sea view.
“Good option for Almalfi coast stay”
Excellent position and beautiful surroundings internally and externally. The Town of Ravello makes for an excellent break and the hotel compliments this town and the overall atmosphere. The hotel does not offer much of an evening meal menu but the town has plenty of resturants, so that's not a problem and breakfast on the terrace is excellent; so your day always starts well. Only other tiny quibbles; is no complimentary water or coffee and tea making in the room and no full length mirrors or shaving mirror.

Ravello, Italy: Balcony views are plentiful along this beautiful coast, but little matches Ravellos panoramic seascape. Steps from the main square of Piazza Vescovado lead to the cathedral of San Pantaleone dont miss the fine marble pulpits. Two villas in lovely gardens also deserve a visit. Villa Rufolo holds a summer festival of classical concerts. The belvedere views from the English-style gardens of the Villa Cimbrone are breathtaking.
