“I'll come back...”
to this clean and charming hotel. My husband and I stayed in Amalfi as a home base for exploring the other towns. Our hotel was easy to get to, right in the center. Our room was big and comfy. The bathroom was very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast, served on the top floor with an amazing view was wonderful.
“Great hotel in the center of Amalfi”
Friendly family run hotel. Quiet, clean and close to everything.
“Can't wait to go back”
This hotel was ideal for us for our 4 night stay in Amalfi. It is very central, a short walk from the transport options, has a good elevator, is air conditioned, has good sized rooms with really nice bathrooms, good breakfast choices, helpful staff and there is an internet cafe directly opposite the main street entrance.
“Friendly, honest service. a good family run hotel which looks after people.”
I can't recommend the hotel enough. The service, standards and efficiency was excellent. all staff at the hotel were friendly, showed an interest in the guests and were very proud of their hotel. Next to the hotel is an excellent restaurant called La Perla - the food is amazing, reasonably priced and excellent staff. I'd certainly go back to Hotel Amalfi, I had a fantastic stay.
“Friendly and comfortable hotel, great location”
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The friendly staff gave us useful advice about the local area and the breakfast was great (especially the coffee!).
“Lovely little hotel”
I was a little scared to stay here as it was the first hotel I had ever booked without any recommnedations. That said, my experience was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was great. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of town so it's close to everything. The restuarant next door, La Perla, was excellent. The only thing lacking was a nice view from the window, but that is a minor quibble.
“Amalfi Hotel, Amalfi”
The staff speak excellent English and go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. When we accidentally broke a bottle of wine they brought us up 2 glasses of an excellent substitute and when we asked for a kettle because we needed to access boiling water for a medical treatment they just went out to buy one for us! The hotel is fabulously situated in the heart of Amalfi, yet out of the way enough to be quiet and with beautiful gardens of lemon and orange trees! The staff organise many excellent activities, such as tours or walks free of charge. Other trips and tours are very good value for money, with superb, professional guides. We had a memorable trip to Pompei and Mount Vesuvius. We are looking forward to going back next year and would not consider any other place! We found Amalfi to be the most exciting town on the coast, despite the tourism, which is of course everywhere. It is a living town with school children, old people and generally full of lovely and genuine people. Our trip was a great experience.
“Hotel Amalfi”
Great for staying in the centre of Amalfi. Your right near the square and the Beach is less than 5 mins stroll away. It is a basic hotel, but clean and tidy with friendly staff. Not sure about the 10 euro for air conditioning ontop of your room rate when you get there, but we found the temperature fine with out it if you keep the shutters closed during the day.
“Nice hotel”
If you are looking for something in the heart of Amalfi then this is it.... unless you have issues with stairs. The breakfasts were yummy with fresh croissants and cappuchinos and everyone was friendly. We stayed here for almost a week, using it as home base to explore. We we incredibly impressed with the cleaning staff. You could have eaten off of any surface in this place. As far as we could tell they cleaned from sun up til sundown and everything was scrubbed and polished. Disappointed that they did not have a computer we could use, not even for rent. We did not experience this anywhere else and since we were not able to pack a computer we had to use the pricey little internet cafe which was conveniently located. Front desk staff not knowledgable about ferry schedules etc. We learned the hard way! Also they block international phone cards from your room phone and just tell you to go use a payphone. We never were able to get our phone card to work either. In the morning the church bells start to ring (in your ear) at 7 am. Since you are next to the church it's impossible to sleep through that. We are early risers so didn't mind too much.
“Perfect Location”
Lovely location - clean rooms - satisfactory breakfast

Area:
Amalfi, Italy: A charming cluster of pastel houses, shops, cafés and watchtowers, Amalfi seems little more than a village. However it was a great naval power and a wealthy trading republic in medieval times. Its dramatic setting in jagged cliffs cloaked in vineyards is best seen from a boat. Amalfis star turn is a gorgeous cathedral with great bronze doors and lacy cloisters. The nearby village of Atrani is quiet and pretty, with a fine Byzantine church.
