“a childrens paradise”
am trying to arrange another trip in 1/2 months time i live in rural spain and is nice to go to benidorm for a bit off england spanish staying in this hotel as well so that says multitudes no room for sunbathing if you are a pool lover
“It was ok for a break”
Certainly not one of the best hotels I've stayed in, but it was good, clean, the food was enjoyable (always something decent to eat) and there is a self service bar after midnight. The staff were pleasant enough, always happy to help. I would rate this hotel as a good 3 star. Its nice and central for the entertainment and the beach. As for cardiac hill, well I'm overweight, not particularly fit and a smoker and I managed! Certainly anyone with a disability will struggle.
“Good Family Holiday”
The enterance to the hotel has the wow factor, with waterfall and rock features in the long reception. My 11 year old son loved it, there was plenty for him to do, but he did say the pool was too cold! (in May you can expect this). My parents aged 65 and 67 came with us, and although they didnt mind the small hill, at night time we decided to stay in the hotel bar because we didnt like the thought of having to walk back up it. The evening entertainment was just ok, dont get ripped off with the bingo - if you win you get to choose a prize off the stage, a bottle of alcohol or a teddy bear, you can get these really cheap at the shops. There are alot of Spanish people, but hey you are in Spain. The buses that take you around the group of hotels are a brilliant idea, out of the 7 hotels we looked at all of them and Magic Rock would have been my 2nd choice after Monika, depends where you want to be Benidorm or Finestrat. There was not much sunbathing space at the hotel (if you want a large area for sunbathing think about staying at Excaliber). The food was good, with a separate kids area. When the main bar area closes at midnight, if you go up to the bar opposite the reception area you can carry on drinking into the early hours. The beds are very hard and the walls are thin. It is very clean and a nice hotel for families.
“Would return”
Apart from walk uphill, hotel was in an excellent position. Food was very good with lots of variety.
“Magic rock garden hotel”
i've just got back from staying at this hotel. It was a nice hotel and the staff were very helpful. The food was ok, it wasnt anything to shout about. The room was nice but it had no balcony and the swimming pool areas were so crammed with people we didnt get a chance to sit there. But the hotel was located in a very good area. Right next to the beach and close to the nightlife but not too close. So i would probably stay there again but i wouldnt choose the half board option.
“good value”
after reading the reviews i was fearing the worst. but this hotel is fine, yes there is a bit of a hill but i never heard no one moaning, loads of hot water, rooms are clean, the food is ok, a nice choice at each meal, the other hotels in the group which we went too all looked good as well. the entertainment was good. This was my first trip to benidorm, I will be back
“Never ever again!!!”
I am sure the location and approach up a steep incline has been mentioned previously. At any one time two lifts were out of order. Once the rain came the hotel was gutted-water everywhere. All lifts out of action with little concern from the staff. Also when the rain came, the televisions didn't work, during the latter two days of the stay during the storms. In the UK this hotel would have been condemned. The entertainment was of a much lower standard than the Bultins of the 1950's. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Since Expedia can edit this review I doubt whether it will be published, go on Expedia it's an honest view so if you don't publish, I will ensure it is published on other sites for general use just in case you bottle out!! By the way, the shuttlebus didn't have me down as a traveller and on the return journey they arrived at the wrong location at the wrong time. You couldn't make it up!!
“Stay away, less than one star resort”
We stayed at the Magic Rock Garden June 29 & 30 of 08. It was the worst hotel stay we have experienced. Under-staffed and always a long line at the desk.Check in was terrible, clerk did not mention you needed a deposit for the A/C remote, the TV remote or the safe. It took several trips down inconvenience passageways to handle normal check in business. We hit the beach which was several buildings away and came back to our room for showers, there were no towels. Another trip to the desk and several calls later we got towels in about two hours. Electricity went out 3 times, hair dryer only ran 15 seconds without kicking out, TV was not working and A/C was hot. No effort was made by the staff to correct any of these issues and emails to management after the trip were not answered. Lot's of kids, pool was full and under-sized. No towels for pool or beach. I was told before I made the reservation that parking was availble for a price but you had to find it by luck on the street. Food was just eatable. This is not all-inclusive, there was a rule for everything.
