“Very nice stay, everyhting works smoothly”
The hotel is very good, in a nice quiet area yet 5min. away from the main cities and villages near by. Nice and friendly staff, the room was very confortable and things went right in just about everything. Surely a nice place to stay when visiting this area.
“A True Five Star Resort!”
The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and facilities were first class! Quality and style of furnishings in the rooms and communual areas were excellent. We had a great time and would certainly return.
“A fantastic place to stay.”
A fantastic place to stay. We were in a 1 bedroom townhouse which had a very spacious living/dining area with comfortable seating, TV, DVD player, fireplace etc, a well equipped, spotless kitchen, beautiful bathroom with good quality towels, robes & toiletries and a spacious bedroom with excellent wardrobes & a small safe. There was also a patio area with table, chairs & sunbeds. The townhouse was serviced twice daily by the maid. The gardens & pool area was lovely, as was the indoor pool & spa facilities. The restaurant is well designed and the included breakfast was nice as was the one meal we ate there. We found all the staff to be friendly and courteous. We will definitely return.
“A place to return to definitely...”
Overall we were extremely impressed with the resort. Our apartment was stunning and had everything you could want - DVD, surround system, comfortable furnishings, patio area, fully equipped kitchen - dishwasher, washing machine, juicer etc. We couldn't fault the surroundings, the pool was spacious and a place for families with young children and couples like us to enjoy without feeling "taken over". The staff were very helpful and polite - especially our cleaner and Fred, the shuttle service driver, a real character who recommended local beaches and restaurants to us. Thanks Fred! Despite the courteous, hard-working staff, we give the hotel service 3 out of 5 as at times we were affected by staff shortages especially in the restaurant. There does not seem to be an on-site operations manager to deal with problems as they arise. We were asked to wait from Thursday to Monday to speak about a one and a half hour wait in the restaurant! This is our only criticism of the resort. It was very busy during our two week stay and it was unfair for the staff to have deal with problems that should have been resolved by an onsite manager. Hopefully, this will be resolved by our next visit as it was a beautiful place to really unwind and recharge the batteries. We would definitely recommend it.
“OK, but . . .”
This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. It's 10 minutes drive to town and about 5 minutes drive to the nearest beach. Unfortunately, whilst the hotel itself was of a 5 star standard, the service there wasn't. For example, when the hotel is running a barbecue evening, the hotel bar is closed because there aren't enough staff to run both. It's just small things like that which slightly spoil an ontherwise good experience.
“Great hotel, fantastic staff”
Great hotel, excellent food, fantastic staff, really genuinely friendly, great for families but without being "Disney", just a shame the outdoor pool isn't heated, otherwise it would have been pretty much perfect....so we used the indoor pool alot!
“Hope the hotel will improove!”
Very nice and spacious rooms, with good facilities, however the housekeeping was certainly not up to 5 star standard, our toiletries were not renewed daily, and the slippers in our room on arrival were obviously 2nd hand! Waiters and waitresses were very friendly at breakfast but were struggling to keep up with the demand, and we had to help clear tables and sat beside other tables which were left with dirty crockery etc. Breakfast itself, was dissapointing, and not a great choice. Swimming pool was also small for size of hotel. Overall a little dissapointing, but we hope with time the hotel will improove and become top notch!

Carvoeiro, Portugal: At the head of a long verdant valley the popular, pretty little resort of Carvoeiro opens onto a small golden cove.
