The staff at this hotel were fabulous and went out of their way to accomodate our every need. They were knowledgable and made good recommendations for attractions in the area. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for a 5*

“Great hotel, fantastic staff”

We booked Vila Sol as a very last minute holiday and were not disappointed. The hotel is fantastic and the staff cannot do enough for you. The facilities are excellent and there are lots of things to do on site. There is a shop and traditional pub approx 20 min walk away. We should have hired a car as it is not near Vilamoura beach or marina, but there is a bus service and taxis are only 8 euros. STRONGLY recommend this to couples and familites alike. I hope to return!

Just came back from Portugal, strogly recommended, amazing location, very good hotel, clean, quiet , very relaxing. Breakfast is very good, big variaty and very clean. Would definately go back!!!

“Very impressed with facilities--shuttle to town good but shold extend to 10.30pm”

Staff were very friendly and accomadating. Facilities for golf first class. Food at the Restaurant excellent and lunch time at Clubhouse good value. Hotel rather remote from town--15 minute car ride--although the Hotel shuttle was very convienient but stopped at 7.30pm. We would recommend to others and would consider returning in future given the right deal!!

“Would definitely go back!”

Vila Sol Hotel was first class in every way. We were given adjoining rooms which was great, and the size and scale of the accommodation was very luxurious. Breakfast was the ultimate in self-service buffets, obviating the need for a further meal until the evening! The only downside was the cost of drinks at the bar...

“Vilasol Solice, near to everything but in an oasis of calm”

We booked this hotel because we stopped at their Alvor Priaia in May and liked the experience. We also had friends in Vilamoura and nearby so could meet up without being in each other pockets. The hotel was all we wanted, very friendly efficient staff (we arrived 11am told our room would normally be ready 3pm but they had sorted for midday). I played the golf course, which was very nice and some superb and picturesque holes - but it did show signs of a long season and a few divots on fairways and greens needed attention (not a problem for our game but noted all the same). The hotel is a 7euro taxi ride from the Marina, so near enough to enjoy the choices of shops, bars and restaurants - but at this time of year we felt we were in an oasis of calm, lying by the pool with acres of golf course nearby meaning it was not overdeveloped (though I am not sure how much space there would be peak season with a full hotel and kids galore). Breakfast was buffet, but healthy and plentiful, and again friendly staff on hand with tea/coffee as required.

“Great Hotel”

Very good Hotel. Room was a garden suite. This had great air con and nice surroundings. Food was very good. All worked on a buffet style but high quality. The only small niggle was due to not very good entertainment in evenings. This was poor local singers. Would expect more from 5 star. Overall though a great place and would certainly go back.

“Hotel good but there are issues which need addressing”

We stayed in this hotel for five nights august 2011. Generally the hotel and the room we were satisfied with. We only had breakfast included and again there was a wide choice apart from crepes. The hotel advertises crepes on the menu . We would recommend having breakfast only as Vilamoura marina has many excellent restaurants. The other issue we had was the fact that you are charged a ridiculous amount per hour for usage of tennis court. This was not in the brochure and when we queried it the receptionist said that we dont say its free either!!!!! Our 12 year old son said well they dont say either the swimming pool or the table tennis is free either. Our other issue was with the free shuttle buses to the marina and beach there were only three and the last one left at 5.45 pm. We noted that the Hilton shuttle bus arrived every ten minutes. If these issues were to be addressed then our rating of the hotel would increase from good to very good.
