“Good hotel and very comfortable”
We stayed at Luna Forte da Oura for 1 week in a 1 bedroom apartment. The room was cleaned every day and the employees were very helpful. The only downside is that they claim it is a 4* hotel but in fact it is more like a 3*. It isn't too far from the beach (about 8-10mins walk) but it is a bit far from the old town which is the more interesting part of Albufeira. We had a very good time staying there and we would definitely recommend the hotel to other people.

Great location near restaurants, shops and 5 minutes walk to the beach The only minus is a problem with the light in the apartment.
“Cant wait to go back again.”
We have stayed at this hotel for 3 years and have always been delighted. Comfortable beds, spacious accomodation, very obliging staff and ideal location. Also good evening entertainment.
“Lovely relaxing hotel, short walk to the beach”
We had a lovely relaxing week at this hotel. Our room was clean, cool and quiet (although we had requested a quiet room) which was perfect for us and our 2 kids (age 7 and 10). The gounds were green and well-maintained with a tennis court and small playgound. It's pool size and pool-side area is probably the only drawback, but it was still fine and we spent most afternoons at the pool, which was clean and well-maintained, but not as big as some other hotels. It is a 10-15 min walk downhill to a series of great beaches so we only went into Albufiera once, since the kids were happy at the local beaches and pool. We would definitely go back there!
“Luna Forte da Oura.”
Hotel location very good for local shopping, restaurants, bars. But set back enough not to get the noise. Just a short walk down to the lovely beaches. One minor complaint is the hotel restaurant, not having a full menu available throughout the advertised times of opening, no problem there are 10 other restaurants within 150 metres of the hotel. So if they don't want the custom!
“Good base for relaxing break in convenient location”
The apartments are clean and bright with regular maid service and towel change. Although it has 4 keys its maybe more like 3 star by UK standards but it is clean, bright and airy and a good relaxed holiday base. Pool area is spacious and relaxing (we did go beginning of September and complex wasnt full...), staff were friendly and service was good. Location was excellent - 5 mins walk to beach (downhill so might not be suited to those with walking difficulties) and 5 mins to the lively "Strip" with loads of bars & restaurants. The Old Town is a 30 min walk or 5 euro tai ride away - this has a better range of restuarants and is more traditional based aroudn a beach and town square.
“very surprised”
We booked this very last minute, and were very surprised by what we got for the price. Hotel was clean and looked very new even though it had been built 11 yrs ago. We were 2 adults and 2 children of 13 and 11 travelling. It was a 1 bed apartment but had 2 sofabeds in the lounge which was great for the kids, 2 tvs and also a very large balcony (rm 308). The pool was absolutely fine, beach was 5 mins downhill, and the restaurants were 5 mins uphill. It was well worth it but hotel restaurant was not too amazing we only had lunch there one day.
“Not too bad.....”
On the plus side - really nice staff, nice pool, relaxed ambience.....and overall a well designed, generously proportioned hotel with a lovely garden space. On the debit side the rooms I thought were really scruffy for a 4 star - their photographer should get an award for artistic license! And the in house restaurant (hard to avoid if you're chilling by the pool) was a bit grim too.....also, small point perhaps but the beach the hotel is so close to is actually a very small one.....the main action is a cab ride away in the old town...Overall.....its definitely cheap and cheerful but dont carried away with the 4 star rating.
“Forte Review”
Hotel was in perfect location, 500 yards from the beach. Roads are a little confusing on navigating so go slow in attempt to arrive. Hotel is two blocks from hip/club area of town and restaurants. Rooms are a little plain but, if you can get the largest room, you're set because they offer the best view and room available for bring home parties. Breakfast was a little boring and waited many times for egg replenishing but, overall was fine!
“Not impressed”
Great country, beautiful region but cannot say the same for this hotel.

Area:
Albufeira, Portugal: The former little white fishing village of Albufeira, now densely developed beneath a sea of apartments and mid-rise blocks, is the regions most popular resort. The pretty Old Town is wall-to-wall restaurants and bars, though some local establishments and residential areas still remain. Its picture-postcard Fishermans Beach, with spectacular ochre cliffs and rock stacks, remains an iconic, albeit often very crowded, Algarve sight.
