“Vila Gale Praia - a gem of hotel”
This is a little gem of a hotel. It is in a very quiet area near a lovely beach. The staff are charming and the rooms comfortable. It is probably not for children and not for party people - the only music is relaxing pipe music (which did get somewhat repetative). If you just want to relax and enjoy good local food , a gym and a spa it is a good choice.
“A first class hotel”
I'll visit again. A great welcome upon arrival. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly, eager to help. The restaurant food was very good. A very relaxing hotel and surrounding area, about 100yds from the beach.
“If you want to relax - this is the one!”
We wanted a couples hotel for our honeymoon to relax, enjoy good food in comfortable surroundings and this hotel certainly provided all of this and more! The staff were friendly, efficient and highly professional - a refreshing change to many hotels! If you want a chilled holiday in a contemporary hotel with good amenities and excellent staff, then this is the one for you! If you want to party or require a more family orientated holiday I would suggest looking elsewhere in the area.
“Great for rest and relaxation.”
My partner and I stayed for seven nights, and what attracted us was the pool, the gym and spa, and that it was a small hotel (40 rooms) and does not generally cater for families (we wanted a quiet break!). From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive (but certainly not excessively so) which made the stay so enjoyable. The food in the restuarant was very very good (if a little salty on occasion - but then at some other local restuarants we also found were heavy on the salt). The rooms were throughly cleaned everyday, and the aircon worked a treat. On a couple of occasions the water from the shower fluctuated from warm to cold, but not an overall problem, and it disappeared by the end of our week). The beach is 2 minutes walk away, and is lovely for early morning walks when the tide is out and the day is cool. The pool is a good size for swimming, but because it is deep (over 2 metres) at this time of year (mid-September) a bit cold (for those of us who are big girlie wooses who like luke warm water to swim in). Special mention must go to (excuse the spelling) Alexandra, Luis, Ricardo and Catrina for making us so welcome and helping us learn some Porteguese. Always smiling and friendly, from greeting us at breakfast to serving us at dinner (often on the same day!). Would we go again(always the big test)? Yes - the staff, the food, and that it was quiet and sunny with a beach and a pool.

A lovely hotel in a quiet area, ideal for couples. We were really lucky with the weather. Room very good, clean all amenities. Hotel staff excellent - very friendly and professional.

A fantasically decorated hotel with a bed big enough to fit four people in. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was always immaculate. Free DVDs and CDs for rental at reception, a hotel towel and mug of green tea on arrival and a welcome fruit bowl in our room. The only downside for me was the breakfast, as it was far too healthy for me! Would definately return to this hotel.
“You,ve read it....now go!!”
My husband and I have just returned from the most wonderful week at the above hotel. We chose here after reading previous reviews, and yes they're absolutely true! This place is fantastic! The setting is peaceful, and the hotel exudes harmony as soon as you step inside. The staff are friendly and courteous and very welcoming. The facilities on offer are second to none. We enjoyed a wonderful aromatherapy massage in the 'wellness suite' and came home relaxed and refreshed. The breakfasts are fab, the restaurant exceptional. We too booked the bus direct from the airport, good value for money. Our honeymoon here was made all the more special as we received champagne and strawberries on our arrival, along with the customary fruit platter. Looking forward to a return trip for our 1st anniversary - we wouldn't consider anywhere else!
“Peace and tranquility in Portugal”
In line with the other referrals, we had a wonderful time at this hotel. The rooms are very clean, spacious and to a high standard. The food is exceptional in particular, the breakfast is a must. The spa facility offers ample treatments for both men and women. It was very quiet during our stay in December which is just what we wanted. A rental car is a must due to its fairly remote location. We are looking forward to returning to this hotel early in the New Year, all being well. You will not be disappointed!!
“Great Place to Stay”
My Wife and I had a lovely relaxing time, the staff are all very friendly and the Hotel is nice and quiet. The weather was super for the time of year (Mid April 20c all week). The Hotel Restuarant is good but it is worth a walk to the beach for lovely fish dishes at Pedras Amarelas on the beach.
