“Wonderful Experience”
We don't like tourist resort with big highrise hotels. This is hotel is large, but it does not give you that feeling. We were pleasantly surprised. This was our first visit to the south of Portugal so we wanted to drive around and see as much as possible. We actually did not have the time to fully enjoy the beautiful room and secluded patio. We will have to come back. We really enjoyed everything about this hotel.
“Excellent stay”
Lovely hotel, superb location, beautiful public areas. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and would recommend this option as, while the breakfast buffet was very good, we did try an evening meal that was less than satisfactory. The bar is terrific but was completely dead in the evenings during our visit in March. Service was very friendly and highly efficient.

“Wonderful location”
A wonderful location right on the beach with a lovely pool with a a separate grass area for lounging. Comfortable lounges and shade when you want it. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Only drawback was the air conditioner in the lounge area just didn't cut it. This meant leaving the drapes (with a lovely view) closed most of the time to keep the sun and heat out. Very comfortable room though with good bathroom facilities. We attended a buffet in the hotel with local entertainment that was very good. Situated around the pool and in the dining area it was a pleasant evening followed by a walk along the waterfront which is very busy and very entertaining. The night life is just a couple of steps away but we experienced no noise in our room. There are only THREE parking spaces for this hotel. We had little trouble finding nearby parking on the street (in September). Overall a very good experience - especially its excellent location.
“Best hotel on our trip”
An excellent hotel in every way. Helpful, cheerful staff. Wholesome breakfast;lovely beach view. Our only reservation is that the opaque window of the bathroom does not give full privacy and guests passing through the outside corridor can readily see shapes of person in bath !

Had a great stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Locations is fabulous.

A small hotel on a lively street full of shops bars and restaurants at the quieter end of the street.Room spacious and well equipped with an under counter fridge and large terrace overlooking hotel gardens and beach.Buffet breakfast always plentiful and kept well stocked.Service in bar and restaurant very good and all staff very friendly and efficient! Pool area quite small and despite "hotel rules" the saving of sunbeds in shade (by all nationalities!)often meant that even by 9am all the beds round the pool were "reserved" but often not used for 3 hours or more. There was however plenty of space in the gardens.Overall a very good, value for money, friendly hotel and would recommend to all.
“On the Ocean”
Right on the ocean, the Hotel Oriental is well situated. The street-side offers blocks of restaurants, some shops and bars. Easy to walk to it all. Oriental also has an outdoor food terrace that is open to the public and wonderfully situated. The beach itself has restaurants along it, adding wonderul alternatives for dining on the beach. The hotel breakfasts get a bit boring, as one day is "English" and the next hardboiled eggs--and the coffee is the world's worst--yet the staff is helpful and friendly. This was a great, low-key place to stay!
“Excellent location”
Excellent location, hotel will be even better after renovation, frontal seaview rooms have uninterupted view of the beach and sea, rooms are reasonably priced.
