“What a surprise”
Booked this at the last minute as a break for my wife who has been ill recently. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The hotel is in a quiet residential area and was very clean and tidy. Daily maid service with new towels and bedding was a surprise. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The outdoor pool is 50 metres away and is well cared for. We had a car for the whole trip so it was easy to get around. If we hadn't had this then I suppose taxis would have got us to the various restaurant. I would recommend a car though. Please don't go expecting 5* luxury but you can be sure of a clean, friendly place to stay. For the price we paid I would say this was more than value for money
“will not back to this hotel to basic”
a very basic hotel to far away from any think to do in the day or night time a part from the pool down the road .the beds are the worst i have ever slept on. and the shower was very basic, if the water was hot for you when you wanted to take one to go out it would be a bonus .never tryed breakfast my self but spoke to over guests thay said it was pig slops not my words theirs.no problem with staff top marks to them .when going out on a night out it will cost you 6.00 euros both ways to get to action or night life
“Falty Towers Reborn”
We were looking for a cheap hotel and got what we paid for so no complaints. In the end you will laugh at all the broken things and run down state of the place but for this price you shouldn't expect miracles. The female reception staff make you feel like your disturbing them but the remainder of hotel staff are friendly enough. Rooms are very basic and cramped but if your fan works it'll be ok. After all the room is just to sleep in. I wouldn't recommend the place for kids at all but we were alon this time so no worries. The pool area is ok but spents alot of the day in the shade unfortunately. Too far from town to walk but taxis are cheap. The old town is good to eat out, hotel food is a buffet and I couldn't recommend it. Portiamo is a great little town with fantastic beaches though and for the money I'd stay here again.
“Adequate for low budget hotel”
In general everything at this hotel was adequate and it was well worth the bed and breakfast rate that we paid for. The positives: Luggage room was provided on arrival as we arrived early; aircon in bedrooms fantastic; great size twin bedrooms; rooms cleaned every day (bed made and towels replaced); all rooms have balconies; small but nice indoor and outdoor swimming pools; adequate breakfast (we haven't tried any drinks or snacks from the lounge area); wifi works well in the lounge area only; Expect the following to avoid dissapointment: location of hotel in between residential apartments and half an hours' walk to beach/ restaurants (free hotel shuttle during the day though); outdoor pool not privately enclosed on hotel property and you are on show to residents on top floors of surrounding apartments; no tourist guides/ maps etc; when you book a double you will most likely get a twin Just a couple of negative experiences during our stay: Firstly - even though we booked a double (also clearly stated on ours and the hotels' confirmations) we got given a twin on arrival. We were told that doubles are by request only?!?! (the fact that we booked 6 months in advance made no difference). After insisting that we get given what we booked we were moved to a double room midway during our stay. Secondly - the pool is cleaned during the late morning with no clear signage if you are allowed to swim or not, a noisy hoover like machine also used for half an hour, inpolite cleaner.
“Never again”
Beds were hard as rock and swiming pool across the car park.
“not impressed”
it was far a way from the beach, there was the shuttle but the last was at 17:30 back in to the hotel,no service for the evening to go down in town and no service at all on sundays,I ending up tp rent a scooter .the in door swimming pool was dark and unwelcoming, the outdoors one was a way from the hotel in a cement square( never used both) the stuff was ok there was one girl called Elisabeth very helpfull and very very overworked she was day and night working, then there was Alex with very good customer service. The dailey cleaning of the room was only the make up of the beds and changing the towels the bathroom was not clean at all. I wont recomand this hotel or go back
