Do not stay at this property. It should not even be on expedia as an option. Dirty, in poor maintenance condition, questionable people loitering around the property. I felt very unsafe and ended up not staying there.

Will never stay there again started off with a 100 dollar insurance fee that was made aware of at arrival which I get back at checkout. Which was given to someone else that they misplaced there gave them mine forgot that they did and an hr later remembered so they gave me someone else's money so I could leave.everything was old out dated last up date appears to be in the 80. Holes in walls no iron in room. The bedding was clean tho. Then at checkout

The desk attendant was the only helpful aspect, and I am thankful for her consideration, as well as the other attendant alongside her. My radar went up upon arrival at the Ramada. There were people loitering under the awning over the entryway, as well as in the entryway itself. One of the persons outside was drinking beer from a large, clear cup. Inside, the music coming from whatever large room on the bottom floor was extremely loud. The desk attendant said that a graduation party was going on at the hotel. I wish I had been made aware of that upon booking. I asked if it was quiet upstairs, and they assured me it would not be an issue. They put me on the 7th floor. While the music was not blaring up there, unfortunately the Albany highway noise was very loud, and it was evident that even earplugs may not help adequately. It was also the case that several of the cleanliness and condition factors of the room itself were usually off-putting. I finally decided to re-pack anything I had opened up from my belongings, and to ask the front desk if I was obligated to stay, or if I could have a refund. Once outside, certain guests were out of control, and the police came to address the situation. It was late, and difficult to ultimately waste 90 min at that hour checking back out and trying to identify another place to stay, but I was glad to have done so. Hopefully Ramada Albany will put some funds toward cleaning up their hotel & improving their guest stay experience for the future.

First of all door key is not working properly. It is very difficult for me to open the door. A/C was not working. Then I went in the front desk for change my room but from desk lady said no room are available at this time. I have no choice rather than stay with that condition. Sorry to say front desk lady was so rude and unprofessional.

So many ROACHES!! Dead roach inside the refrigerator and one inside the drawers. As we continued our stay, a few live ones stared to come out. I have NEVER been to a hotel with cockroaches! I wish I knew they used this “hotel” as a shelter as the other reviews said before I booked it. You can totally tell people were living here by the hanging strips on the walls, the stickers on the bed frame, the incense left on the closet door and the uncleanliness of the room. I guess you get what you paid for but this hotel has taught me a lesson to read the reviews before booking! The refrigerator had a lot of frost in it and was unclean. There was a hole in our bathroom door on one side and the other side was falling apart and nails were found near the sink area, definitely took a picture and showed the front desk so I wouldn’t be charged for it, since they already took a $100 “breakage” deposit from me at check in. The walls were dirty and paint was peeling. The drawers did not close properly and I found used clothes in the back of one of them. The keys are horrible to open to door, needing to swipe several times for them to work and even had to get them changed. The lighting in the room was dark and the bathroom smelled like mold/urine, the bath tub was so clogged the water almost overflowed while showering. The microwave had an awful smell to it. We were given a plastic bag to carry ice instead of a bucket. Spend the extra money on an actual hotel. Book at your own risk!!!!

My room smelled of cigarette smoke…the bathroom soap holder had mold, I didn’t have an iron board…the microwave wasn’t up to par. Spiders n roaches will definitely not stay at this place ever again.

Didn't go, did not stay didn't want to. I booked the room in 2023 for 2023 and the non-refundable payment was taken crediting an April 2024 stay, which, living in Toronto I could not use. What a waste of money - thank you Expedia. I arrived last year and they did not have the reservation so I paid directly and paid again for nothing for a mistake I think was Expedia.ca - not me. I have learned to get along fine in travel without Expedia and can't imagine giving them my business again. A total rip off. Thanks or asking.

This hotel (shelter for DSS-not listed on website) was very sketchy but we drove 3.5 hours for an event and we were tired after. There were security guards in multiple locations (I've never seen that at a hotel before). There were also people hanging around all around outside. The pool is not in service so if you saw it listed they lied. After getting the keycards I went to inspect the room. We booked this room before seeing google reviews. I searched the room all over to make sure there were no bugs. While checking one of the beds, there was crumbs, hair, and stains in 2 areas. I asked the front desk to change the sheet and she looked at me like I had 6 heads. I explained why I wanted it changed. We left to go to the event we came here for. Once back in the room, our TV was on (sounded like a kids show) and we couldn't get in there room. We went back to the front desk to say something wasn't right and our money back to leave. They didn't believe us and they went to look at the room with me. Not sure why we would lie but okay. Turns out one keycard didn't work and there was something wrong with the door handle. I said when I left the TV was not on so when the cleaning person went in to "change the sheets" they put the TV on (which was the news). After the person left, I went to inspect the bed. The sheets were not changed. All they did was brush off the crumbs, hair, and remade the beds. I was extremely irritated. Not sure why it couldn't have been changed. Staff was nice.

The staff is fine, but everything else is not good. The place is way overdue for updates. The room smelled like someone was in it eating and the tv was on when we entered the room. I believe they are housing illegal aliens at this location too. Some of the people loitering around made us feel very uncomfortable.

This was a ‘permanent residence’ hotel. Security guards were there to guide where to go. The room smelled like smoke. The toilet was one foot off the ground. If we were staying longer than one night we would have gone to find another hotel. Someone was knocking on our door at 130am… I do NOT recommend this hotel

I feel like the listing completely misrepresented the property itself. Upon entering the hotel it smelled BAD. Once we were checked in, we entered a room where the TV was already on, the bed sheets were crumpled, and it again, smelled stagnant and moldy. We were in a “no smoking” room, yet the reeking smell of cigarettes was pouring through the vent in the bathroom. A few hours after being checked in, we start smelling the most pungent, strong garlic I’ve ever smelled in my life. The smell lingered for at least the next hour. When pulling the bed sheets back, we noticed not one, but multiple dark stains ( I’m not going to say for sure I know it’s blood, but that’s what it most closely resembled) all over it. After pulling those sheets back, we notice the mattress itself has the same dark stain on it. When we notified the front desk, all we were offered was “oh, sorry” and nothing further. We checked out a day early (immediately after attending the event we checked in for originally). Would not recommend, will be looking for a refund.

The hotel smelled bad as soon as you walk in the door. The room was not bad until I went to use the bathroom and a roach was crawling on the tub. The breakfast you have to get a ticket and a man made the food. Got the waffles both mine and my son was not cooked all the way and did not taste good we threw it away.

bargains just do not exist-
I am fully sympathetic to the need of unhoused people and have always advocated for affordable permanent housing and housing as a human right. It is a surprise to arrive and see that the hotel is primarily used to shelter unhoused people, it's not what I expected.

My toilet was plugged,I have to use the toilet downstairs, was disconnected, no WIF for the 4 days I spent there,unable to use my laptop,I found trash in the bathroom and spilled in the sink, bedsheets was not charged for 3days ; they really need to supervisor cleaners, but I reported to the night attendant, hope tonight is gone be fine, I’m still at work and I will be there at 11:15pm
