“Best Value Apartment at Airlie”
My husband, 2 daughters and I stayed at the Summit Apartments for a long weekend in November 2011. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment, and were pleasantly surprised at the price for the 4 of us. From reviewing other accommodation I believe the Summit to be the best value for money in Airlie. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful and directed us to our apartment and carpark. The apartment was roomy and clean. There was a huge refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, microwave etc. Our room had an open plan bathroom with a large shower and bath and separate toilet. The King bed was very comfortable and all of the rooms had air-conditioning and fans, which you need this time of year. The balcony had a sea view and came complete with wild cockatoos that would come and sit with you, especially if you had food. The reception desk offered many tours and were happy to give us information about local restaurants. If you stay on a Saturday there is a fantastic market which runs from 7am-1pm along the waterfront, and we bought some tasty treats to bring back to our apartment. The Summit Apartments are located a short distance from the main centre and within easy walking distance, just be aware that it is a rather steep climb back. The pool was clean and well maintained and overall the apartment facilities appear very new. I will definitely be returning there for another holiday with my family and highly recommend Summit Apartments to other travellers.
“Perfect...until”
Fantastic location and lots of room to spread out. I loved the layout and the modern decor. I would have given this hotel a five out of five rating UNTIL I decided to sleep on the foldout couch with my son while we watched tv. When I opened the bed, I noticed that it had been left untouched (sheets and all) since the previous occupants had used it. Imagine my disgust when I noticed old bits of cereal still in the bed! I'd say this was just a slip on the part of housekeeping especially since everything else was so clean and tidy, but it makes you wonder what else was missed.
“Great self-catering apartment”
Our room at Airlie Summit Apartments was well furnished, clean and generally comfortable. The bed was a little hard, but other than that we had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. We had a car, but the walk down to the town wasn't far for us, but could be hard for some people.
