“Supply towels for all guests!”

Hotel was in a good location. We stayed for 3 nights and each day we had to request towels for each person in the room. When we complained on the second night, the manager came to our room, apologised and said that he would have it rectified for the next day. He must have forgotten to do it as we did not have enough towels the next day either. It is only a small thing but enough to annoy you especially when it takes them longer than half an hour to bring them to your room!

“A room without a view”

The Hotel was well situated in Adelaide city which was good. Disappointed that we didn't have a room that had an outside view but I don't think any of the hotel rooms did apart from the rooms at the front. Staff at the front desk were friendly. The cleaning lady was lovely also.

“Value on a budget.”

Great value if you are on a budget. I love the iPhone/iPod/iPad docking unit on the bedside table which also serves as a desk complete a chair! The bathroom, although very small is clean, functional, and modern.

“Mercure Grosvenor - a run down backpackers”

We arrived at 11pm and received a "polite" welcome, not too friendly. Got to the room which was at the run-down back end of the hotel. The room itself was very second rate, though the beds were comfy. There was a strong smell of mildew which we rang and complained about. No other rooms available. Upon having a shower, the drains were blocked and so the whole bathroom was flooded - explains the mildew smell. Maintenance attended the next day and we received a complimentary breakfast. Dry-cleaning was also FOC as it was on the bathroom floor - though on check-out they did try to charge me for it. Breakfast is very expensive and not much to choose from the menu for dinner. Location wise, it's very good. Rundall Mall is only a short walk, tram station across road and plenty of restaurants/cafe's to choose from. I'd give it a 2-star rating - not somewhere to stay if you wanted to spoil someone. Definitely not worth the money we paid..

“not impressed”

3 star economy -I dont think so.bathroom dirty, and tiny, room for one only.window fithy, blind sticking for up &down action.complained to management and where upgraded (at our expense) to a room of standard quality.room was bigger but large pillar in centre of room dominated.could not tell on a morning what outside weather was like as room was- without lights on like a basement pitch dark.cannot recommend this hotel to any of my friends.can only say beds were clean and linen changed regulary. ON COMPLAINING TO MANAGEMENT WAS TOLD THE FIRST TYPE OF ROOM BOOKED WERE GENERALLY FOR PEOPLE STAYING THE ODD NIGHT BUSINESS TYPES ETC PERHAPS EXPEDIA SHOULD HAVE THIS INFORMATION FOR FUTURE CUSTOMERS.

“Smallest Bathroom ever”

stayed in two different rooms both were small . The bathrooms in both were identical and was similar to a toilet in a plane for size. Position of hotel was good and staff were quite helpful and pleasant but would not stay there again because of size of room and toilet particularly .

“Not impressed”

The lobby looks nice and the staff is friendly, but the rooms are a very big disappointment. A small room with nothing but a bed and an empty fridge. The paint was peeling in the bathroom, the hallways were long and wandering, and the whole place felt very dated. Sadly not recommended.

“noisy aircon”

the only problem with my room was the extremely noisy air con system, although located outside the room it was very annoying and i believe makes that room and any other room in that area of the hotel unsuitable to stay in. I was aware that other people have made similar complaints and therefore hotel management seem unconcerned that this one issue is having such a bad impact on the hotel's reputation
