“Would stay again”
The room was quiet and very clean and serviced daily without fail. The one negative was you had to pay extra for their car parking.
“Good value, convenient”
Very good sizedone bed ground floor apartment, well positon for Adelaide CBD - market, chinatown etc etc wonderfully friendly staff, only concern is that the apartment's front door literally opens on to the street and one feels a little exposed. however no issues with noise etc - I would definitely go back.
“excellent apartment near Adelaide's Central Market”
We recently spent 3 nights in the Franklin Central, upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment which meant we could use the second room as a dressing room and a place to store our luggage. We were both pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the apartment was (for both kitchen and laundry). The bed was also very comfortable. Our only complaints were in regard to the absence of a coffee maker of some sort, the noise from the building site outside (which will end when the building does, and didn't disturb us in the morning as the bedroom was at the far end of the apartment away from the window,) and the cost of in-room internet. While there was free wifi in the cafe in the lobby, we were so busy that we didn't get to use it since the cafe was not open in the evening. However, all of these things were more than compensated for by the location, near the Central markets, and by the friendly and efficient staff. We recommend these apartments for anyone who wants to self cater in Adelaide for a few days. Do note, however, that the wonderful Central markets have only a small number of stalls open on Mondays, and half or fewer on Wednesdays, although there is quite a good Coles right next to the markets for those days, along with an excellent Vintage Cellars for wine purchases.
“Simple, clean, inexpensive”
Our room was very minimilistic but clean and functional. We don't go on vacation/holiday to sit in an expensive hotel room all day. The neighborhood was convenient to the city centre without the foot traffic in the busier areas. There was ongoing building construction/renovation across the street but the noise was not discernible. A reasonable, unassuming place to stay for people who prefer to spend their money on events and sight seeing instead of expensive hotel rooms.
“1 Bed Apartment is in fact a Studio”
The 1 Bed ground floor apartments are in fact studios, with no door between the bedroom and the main room - so if you are there with a baby (as we were) you will spend very quiet evenings reading and whispering to each other after the baby has gone to bed at 7. They also open straight onto the street and it is tricky to close the curtains so no-one can see in. Apart from that the rooms are fine, the bed is comfortable, the shower is good, and the staff were very nice and helpful.
“Good stay and good value at Franklin Central apartments”
We booked a3 b/room apartment for six nights to attend the Ashes test match in early December 2010. The apartment was fairly clean and tidy when we arrived (there were four of us in total. The layout was quite useable with the master bedroom with its own ensuite off the lounge with the other two bedrooms, which share a bathroom, off a short passageway just inside the front door. Our apartment was on the top floor which has a glassed in area on to which the doors to the apartments open, this area is not always cooled and in the midst of summer can get very hot. This arrangement provides some natural light to the two other bedrooms with the window in each facing on to this area with a void in front of each which runs the height of the building. The kitchen is a reasonable size with a full side fridge/freezer, oven, 4 plate ceramic cooktop, slideout rangehood and dishwasher. The appliances are many years old and will soon need replacing. There is a small laundry next to the second bathroom with a top load washer and a wall mounted dryer, we found that the dryer did not function very well and we were told by the management that it should be operated only on the warm setting, but it still overheated and turned itself off after a while. The only negative was the cleanliness of the bathrooms (a problem common to many hotels and serviced apartments) they just do not get a really good clean with mould obvious in the shower and the area around the toilets not really clean.
“Avoid a ground floor apartment”
I chose this hotel based on location. At reception they gave me the room key and remote control for garage. They told me the reception door was locked at night and to use the swipe to access reception. Then, I was told the door to my room was located outside reception. I walked to the room and to my surprises it was a glass door on the street! I was not comfortable at all hearing poeple walking past and taslking outside my room from the street. At night, the curtains didn't cover the windows properly and I really felt un-safe. The room was pleasent and comfortable, but the TV didn't work at all. I would not recommend a room on the ground floor and from this experience would choose another hotel.
“Great 2 beddy apt. in the Adelaide CBD.”
Great 2 beddy apt. in the Adelaide CBD.
“a delieghtful experience”
I wanted to be near the Adelaide market and I was! The apartment contained all that was required and service was prompt and efficient. The apartment was good in that it was somewhere where my disabled friend could visit. It is one of the few places anywhere where her scooter could be driven in. She loved it. I loved being able to walk out my door and visit most of Adelaide without walking too far. My walking difficulty was no longer such a handicap. The bed was very comfortable the shower was one of the best - nothing was not good.
“Reasonable apartment”
Well priced apartments very conveniently located. Well laid out apartment except for bedroom size. Had a 2 bedroom apartment and both bedrooms were small and really had no where to put your suit case. Had difficulty fitting suitcase inside the cupboard. Bathroom room was similarly small. However, the living area was quite reasonable in size. I would use again, but if the price increased, would consider alternative with a little more room
