“good hotel..better than average”

Decent hotel...felt like the reception desk could have been better. Was not feel welcomed and maybe just a busy period. Looking for a place to stay in the future visit.....good hotel but hope that the customer service improve in the future. Stay was for business/work purpose. Good consideration for family to stay in the future.

“A little bit of comfort and reassurance.”

Even though I booked through Expedia a whole package re: this hotel (airport pickup, breakfast and the room) I still felt it was nessessary to contact the hotel prior to arriving to confirm the airport pick-up. Sure they were there but I felt I needed that confirmation. Maybe it's more of a comment on Expedia than the Sheraton. Anyway the Sheraton was lovely. The staff were pleasant and professional. The room was very nice and clean. My wife and I needed a comfortable base to "work" from with the business we conducted in Abu Dhabi at the time. And the Sheraton gave us that "home away from home feeling". It was reassuring and not stressful. Having never been to Abu Dhabi it was great to see the Sheraton was central to most areas and access around town was easy. Thanks Sheraton.

Area recommendations

The Al Hosn area near the waterfront is nice for an evening walk along the esplanade.

“Sheraton OK - Zayed Street - Abu Dhabi - UAE”

Hi, Great stay at this Sheraton, nice and confortable rooms and restaurants. Walking distance from beach and some malls. Will come back!

“Not Too Shabby For Anybody..”

Staffs were friendly and respectful. Rooms are nicely decorated albeit a little dusty, but I get what I want from this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in Abu Dhabi.

“not impressed”

no hot water for a shower, only warm pool not heated and to cold to use staff at front desk not friendly meal in pub not very good -- hamburger not eaten, shrimps over cooked and like rubber and rack of lamb the same certainly not a five star hotel!

“elegant, comfortable and with valet parking, if they offer good price don't miss it”

for several times I have stayed in this hotel together with my wife, the rooms are elegant and the decor and atmosphere is so quiet and beautiful, in each time they gave me different room design, this last one it was a bit smaller and was without a kitchen but rather integrated with the room however it still comfortable and nice,I did not have a meal in the restaurant nor I tried its recreation center, their internet is surcharged but there is business center you can log in for free, and the most important in Abu Dhabi is they have valet parking I highly recommend this hotel especially when the price is competitive

“Sheraton Khalidya Abu Dhabi”

We stayed during the influx of visitors to Abu Dhabi for the Yas Island opening. The hotel seemed to cope very well. The installation of the security system at the last minute caused some glitches and should have been installed and tested much earlier. Overall a pleasant stay.

Area recommendations

Area around novotel - good small shops. The malls for the Middle Eastern Experience. The corniche for walking and the dhows for evening meals. Public transport and taxi transport in the city is generally safe and reliable. If any traveller has any problems with any taxi driver the police encourage that person to report the problem immediately - safety of women is a particular priority in the emirate.

Traveller's tip

Do not go during ramadan or during the hot season. The best time is from November to March although November can still be a bit warm.

“A veritable haven in Abu Dhabi city centre”

The location of the Sheraton Khalidiya may look unpromising from the outside (on a bustling commercial street near a major junction) but inside you will find a true 5* hotel where the staff really try to please the guests. The hotel is meticulously maintained and well laid out. I particularly liked the way the reception area is on the 1st floor away from the hustle and bustle of a busy cafe and pseudo-pub on the ground floor, so that the choice is yours - you can join the street level melee or you can avoid it completely during your stay. We were allowd to inspect our designated room and compare it to one with a sea view (on the smoking floor) but since we were travelling with a young baby and smelt a slight residue of smoke in there, we reverted to the room without a view on the non-smoking floor. However, when we reported that the washhand basin in the bathroom was leaking slightly, the receptionist immediately upgraded us to a suite with a fantastic sea view overlooking the Abu Dhabi Corniche. It was magnifiicent - roomy, beautifully decorated and quiet on the 8th floor (non-smoking and reserved for Starwood Preferred Guest members). As a result of this, we extended our 2 night stay to 4 nights, so the upgrade paid off for the hotel! Had a superb buffet lunch in the Veranda restaurant - dessert is particulary good. All in all, a wonderful stay in a hotel which seemed to be overstaffed by very well-trained professionals.

Make sure you ask for a room at the back of the hotel with a Corniche view not a street view at the front.

“good quality, nice furnature”

I reserved one room with double bed,parking in the area is very difficult, however the hotel valet will park the car for you. At the reception they asked me if I can leave my credit card with them just in case I have anything from the mini bar, I found that a bit weired, this is the first time I have been asked to submit my credit card as an insurance for mini bar. The room is spacious and comfy, with large bathroom, I liked the idea of the indirect entrance to the room, you have all facilities there with a small kitchen too. I did not like the idea of surcharged internet access (in other countries even a 2 star hotel have it for free) the room very is quite which I like, and well furnished
