“Attentive Friendly Staff”

Norwood Hall is a real gem. Although an older facility, the rooms have been upgraded to modern standards and are exceptionally comfortable. Best of all was the staff. Everyone there was most attentive to every need, always greeted me (usually by name) and engaged in conversation to make me feel at home. I would highly recommend Norwood Hall to Aberdeen visitors, especially those who are on business in the south end of the city.

Area recommendations

Most attractions in Aberdeen are in the city centre which is 3-4 miles from Norwood Hall, thus making it necessary to either catch a bus or drive. There are ample car parks in the city centre with rates of 2-3 GBP to cover most shopping needs.

Nightlife

For the best beer in town, head for Brew Dog (17 Gallowgate) or Prince of Williams pub on St. NIcholas Lane, just off Union and Market. Brew Dog makes their own beer and they have several guest beers available as well. POW has about 8 cask-conditioned ales on tap at any time so one can sample real ales rather than the standard industro-beer fare available in most pubs.

“Good food, great atmosphere”

We stayed at Norwood Hall for 5 nights. We had a junior suite, which we reserved on Expedia for a much lower price than available on their website. The room was beautiful; big bay window, high ceilings, large and modern bathroom. We also had dinner 3 nights in the dining room; food was very good. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. All in all, a very nice place to stay.

Traveller's tip

Nearby Crathes Castle is well worth a visit.
